"We the People" what does that mean?

We just can't help but bring to you our concerns – that legitimately began at this country's founding and relentlessly fought for to keep – is this used to be concept of "We the People" actually meant something. In all openness how many of us truly feel as though our 'elected officials' in Washington D.C., have our best interests in mind?

In our years – collectively – none of us here at Education, Immigration, and Pop Culture have ever witnessed such grandstanding behavior out of so many politicians. This grandstanding or push for power as many imply seems simply to be the mere spotlight posturing to illuminate that these politician's don't have our interests in mind – yet, rather their own interests.

Therefore in short the Unofficial Oversight Committee here are going to address three simple issues which we ought to have a loud voice in albeit, nothing could be further from the truth. Here goes…

As our first issue we look at Sonia Sotomayor – and yes, you guest it – the first Hispanic/Latina person to ever be nominated for a justice seat on the Supreme Court of the United States. Interesting we were provided with some data that we found appealing.

Rasmussen Reports national telephone polling conducted Tuesday and Wednesday night shows that 87% of U.S. voters expect Sotomayor to be confirmed as a member of the U.S. Supreme Court. Thirty-seven percent (37%) favor her confirmation while 41% are opposed. What this is saying is that of 87% of people who vote expect that Sotomayer to be confirmed. Out of that 87% there are 41% (half!) of those oppose her confirmation whilst 37% are in favor of her being confirmed. (Please see here.)

How many of us (or you!) feel as though you've got something realistically to contribute too, or, even think it matters with regards to a new National Health Care Plan? This pet project is worse than cancer! You can try to cut it out, but in the end, it's still there. How could anyone in their right mind suspect that "We the People" want to flop out 1.7 trillion dollars only too find out congress doesn't have the money and raising taxes on everything from soda pop to death doesn't seem to even bother them. (This resembles child's play: 'That's Incredible: What would you do with a million dollars'?)

Inside the numbers shows, seventy-eight percent (78%) of U.S. voters say it is at least somewhat likely that taxes will be raised on the middle class to cover the cost of health care reform. Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans and 62% of voters not affiliated with either major party say health care reform is Very Likely that to raise middle class taxes. Only 37% of Democratic voters agree. (Please read here.)

Remember how just before the election the mantra being espoused by Democrats – especially Nan Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Code Pink – was "The People have spoken, Mr. President…" What do these numbers represent anyway?

And finally, they're revving up for another TARP II or Big Bailout with none other than your money. Please, please, if I have bought a portion of General Motors, Chrysler, Bank of America, Citi Corp., or any of the others that received trillions of taxpayer dollars, would it be a problem for anyone in Washington D.C. to, at the very least, send me a confirmation advice or a stock certificate? It is this kind of reckless disregard for compliance that got those company's and the U.S. government into trouble in the first place.
