This is the kind of rubbish we’ve been talking about for well over three years. The United States Department of Justice through its channels has taken up the cause to sue Berkeley School District 87 – about 15 miles west of Chicago in Berkeley, Illinois. Why or what on earth would an agency of the U.S. government being suing a school district?

The federal government has sued a west suburban school district for denying a Muslim middle school teacher unpaid leave to make a pilgrimage to Mecca that is a central part of her religion. In doing so, the school district violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by failing to reasonably accommodate her religious practices, the government said.

Now come-on! What are we to believe? Is there an issue here with the separation of church and state? Or is it the other way around; is there an issue where something or someone has denied a person their privileges of worship or a person’s right to attend church? Or dare we say it -- discrimination.

In a civil rights case, the department said the school district in Berkeley denied the request of Safoorah Khan on grounds that her requested leave was unrelated to her professional duties and was not set forth in the contract between the school district and the teachers union.

Khan wanted to perform the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia which every adult Muslim is supposed to make at least once in a lifetime if they are physically and financially able to. Millions go each year.

What and how many times have we written that at the behest of special interest groups, or for just about anything these days when someone doesn’t like something that is specific to America – like freedom of religion, speech, and other liberties – they use the U.S. Constitution in a manner to benefit themselves (Please see here, here, and here).

This woman started as a middle school teacher in Berkeley School District in 2007. In 2008 she asked for almost three weeks of unpaid leave to perform the Hajj. After the district denied her request – twice – Ms. Khan then wrote the board that “based on her religious beliefs, she could not justify delaying performing hajj,” and resigned according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Chicago.

According to the lawsuit filed by Ms. Khan, Berkeley School District compelled her to choose between her job and her religious beliefs.

The government asked the court to order the school district to adopt policies that reasonably accommodate its employees' religious practices and beliefs, and to reinstate Khan with back pay and also pay her compensatory damages.

In November 2008, Khan filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which found reasonable cause that discrimination had occurred and forwarded the matter to the Justice Department. The case is the first brought by department in a project to ensure vigorous enforcement of the 1964 act against state and local governments by improving cooperation between the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the department's civil rights division.

Your Rights = Responsibilty and Good Conscience

We have been utterly dying to write this article for who knows how long now. The thesis of this article is the rights we have as Americans that are based within our U.S. Constitution and primarily addressing the Bill of Rights. A couple of years ago whilst reading Original Meanings by Jack N. Rakove he mentions what the Founders felt about human rights transcending into civil rights; yet, it was with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison’s assistance that led to the most common sense ideals that can be found before, during, and after one executes their rights.

Make no mistake about it folks – the entire U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are ‘documents of contract’ that ensure security between a government and those it governs. The rights espoused in the Bill of Rights were written as a measure to protect us from the abuses of power that a government can wield. Yet, just like anything worth having there is a price to be paid to ensure that those rights are not abused, changed, or too legalistic. This is of course the accountability of a collective society to perform its duties which in earlier times consisted of maintaining the core values, morals, and ethics that America was founded upon.

No matter how one perceives themselves, with all the prominence the world could offer, liberties without conscience are inexcusable. In other words, if one intends on speaking freely—this means that upon engaging to speak one must do so with conscience.

Thomas Jefferson left a profound impression upon the nation he loved so much. However, we believe that Jefferson’s greatest effect on this country are not in his inventions, establishments, or politics – we believe that Jefferson’s greatest influence on our nation is in the notion of “Liberties without conscience are inexcusable.”

Now let’s look to practical application aided by a few issues recently in the news: When Bill O’Reilly appeared on The View television show for an interview he was asked “Is it right or wrong for them to want to build a mosque and cultural center here? O’Reilly responded: “I think that it’s inappropriate.” Behar and Goldberg certainly had a different agenda on their minds and prompted O’Reilly with “why is it inappropriate for them to build there”? O’Reilly responded with because they killed…in an act of war…they killed thousands of Americans.” Who are they? The Muslims, of course. Brouhaha ensued.

Immediately O’Reilly realized what he’s said and changed his wording to “Extremist Islamic Terrorists.” This is when Elizabeth Hasselback chimed in with the skill of an orator: “Don’t you see how all of us are suffering at the hands of ‘political correctness’?”

And Mrs. Hasselback was 100 percent correct as was Mr. O’Reilly. You see it’s the dismantling of language that is the very core reason for political correctness. So the saying goes; “All Muslims are not terrorists…but the terrorists were all Muslims.” So naturally when O’Reilly stated Muslims he was immediately pounced on by those who had set this entire issue up.

Furthermore we believe that the Park 51 - Cultural Center and Mosque being built in the current location are an abuse of speech rendered with reckless disregard of conscience and responsibility, not to mention maintaining the core values, morals, and ethics that America was founded upon.

Hopefully with the election of almost half of a new 112th Congress, we’ve managed to get some folks in whom – unlike others before them – will listen, read, and do the math on illegal immigration and how much it is costing American taxpayers.

Due to years of federal inaction, the burning issue of illegal immigration has reached a tipping point. It’s time for us to come together as a community, as a state, and as a nation, to stop throwing rhetorical firebombs.

We would like to assist them in such a way as the “fortunate ones” may not be aware of, or perhaps to enlighten those who need some powder for their canons. In fact, we all need to listen and try to calculate what the accommodation of illegal alien’s is costing us.

This aspect of immigration reform is one that does not get addressed often enough; moreover, when it does it is usually by some left-wing progressives who would rather run than to face the reality of the matter – USA’s fiscal position.

Up to this date the United States has an accumulated debt of some odd staggering 14 trillion dollars. Typing that out could make one’s fingers twitch; however, it is much easier to type it rather than to look at that number. Suffice it to say that unless mindful steps are taken we doubt that the USA will still be the USA in 2060. Just a few suggestions: ($14,000,000,000,000.00)

With one small disclaimer: We will be using some states as examples. Insofar as these examples address deficit spending and subsequent amounts of money we feel that until or unless policymakers come to decisions regarding “Sanctuary Cities” and/or anything that is not in full compliance with the rule of law of our nation then certain necessities may be needed.

With many state budgets in deficit, policymakers have an obligation to look for ways to reduce the fiscal burden of illegal migration. California, facing a budget deficit of $14.4 billion in 2010-2011, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal aliens. New York’s $6.8 billion deficit is smaller than its $9.5 billion in yearly illegal alien costs. (For further reading click here.)

Data gathered from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84.2 billion at the state and local level. The study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy. Those receipts do not come close to the level of expenditures and, in any case, are misleading as an offset because over time unemployed and underemployed U.S. workers would replace illegal alien workers. The government will collect $2.3 trillion in taxes this year. That's well short of the $3.6 trillion it will spend. Fifty-five percent of that spending will go to mandatory expenses like social security, Medicare and Medicaid; 43 percent is called discretionary spending. That's money Congress controls and allocates to more than two dozen government departments like defense or transportation, and the alphabet soup of agencies that the departments oversee. In reading this article one is offered the opportunity to see just how much our nation’s illegal alien problem has contributed to the overall state of affairs. Please be mindful that only a few expenditures have been examined and what the costs of those are that devastate America’s economy. We will continue to bring financial data when it becomes available. We leave you with just one question: How long would it take to pay down a huge percentage of our national debt if we were not spending our tax dollars on those entered our nation illegally?

The FOURTEENTH AMENDMENT: Citizenship, Southern Hatred, and Hope

Most scholars look to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which was written as a bill to support the Civil Rights Act of 1866; this particular act dealt with all things post Civil War in order for the Union (the victors) to maintain some semblance of order with those states that seceded and wanted their statehood back as part of the Union. However, it was argued that those states that had seceded had indeed lost their loyalty and allegiance to the United States of America.

The actual language of the “Citizenship Clause” pursuant to the Fourteenth Amendment, Section 1 states that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Please remember why this amendment was a necessity to the U.S. Constitution and for what reasons it needed to be clarified from the original writing just shy of 100 years earlier.

Senator Jacob Howard of Ohio was the author of the ‘Citizenship Clause’ and defended the new language against the charge that it would make Indians citizens of the United States. Senator Howard assured skeptics that “Indians born within the limits of the United States, and who maintain their tribal relations, are not, in the sense of this Amendment, born subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.” (As a sidebar: Why would people from Middle or South America be construed as any different?)

Up to this point there has not been any mention whatsoever about those born on American soil would be Americas or American citizens – does it? We see this as the most egregious portion of the XIV Amendment insofar as 144 years later (inclusive) citizenship has been granted to babies and their respective families – in one way or another – without any professional leader, Congressional official, or President of the United States doing anything whatsoever to stop this ridiculous 28 word sentence to continue.

What is it that infuriates a politician more than everything else known to humankind? Think all you want however, we feel it has to be somewhere in the voting machinery, albeit, from ‘hanging and pregnant chads’ to being unable to read the ballot – both because of either one’s eyes, vision, or understanding of the English language. Ironically, this was not too much of a problem in post war politics insofar as either a person couldn’t read or made to do otherwise.

By the time the thirty-ninth Congress was seated in December 1865 their agenda resembled something along the lines of the following order: In every seceded state prior to the Civil War’s end their individual state legislatures had worked tirelessly adopting a legal code pertaining only to blacks that segregated the races, banned political participation, restricted social conduct, established severe vagrancy and labor laws that in turn created a peonage system and created extremely harsh criminal punishments.

Furthermore, the Senate and the House alike refused to seat the new southern representatives. Federal legislators quickly sought to strengthen the Freedmen’s Bureau to include utilizing the Army for protecting black civil rights. This particular measure failed in Congress by a margin of two votes to overcome a presidential veto!

By March 1866, Congress, aroused by the South, was ready to accept federal responsibility for guarding individual rights to make and enforce contracts, sue and give evidence, and own property. Despite initial hesitancy about intruding into what had traditionally been under the state’s authority the fed decided to push for the Civil Rights Act of 1866.

The battle over the Civil Rights Act of 1866 led directly to a campaign for a new constitutional amendment. The Joint Committee on Reconstruction understood that traditions and ways of life ran deep in the south and without an amendment there could never be rest or civil rights for more than just the black population, the entire nation whether 60 percent of it or 100 percent of it, were hell-bent on seeing to it that southern white hostility, the unrepentant southern states, would not be successful in undermining the north.

Therefore, the Joint Committee on Reconstruction's first amendment proposal sought to reduce proportionally the congressional representation of states that still denied the right to vote on the basis of race.

When we originally heard about this name change for Rhode Island, well, quite openly we didn’t think all that much about it insofar as a State, just like a human should be able to change its name. We are the first to admit that we didn’t know why the state wanted to change its name. However, when we began to research and gather information as to the cause of why – “You’ve got to be kidding me!” was the first anyone screamed in these offices.

The official name of Rhode Island is: “The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations” or that is what is inscribed – elaborately in the floor of the Statehouse. Many Rhode Islanders might not even know its formal name. It isn't listed on modern-day maps, though it is on the state seal, is found in many official state documents and can be heard in the courtroom when the judge is announced.

The phrase "Providence Plantations" appeared in the royal charter granted in 1663 by King Charles II to the colony of Rhode Island. At the time, "Plantation" was a general term for settlement or colony. In this case, it referred to the merger of the Providence settlement, which was founded by minister Roger Williams following his banishment from the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and nearby towns into a single colony.

You go anywhere and you mention plantations and what automatically comes to a person's mind? Well around here some spoke of huge white mansions with sprawling acreage of land; another mentioned wealth and the Gulf Coast area of the USA. Almost every female mentioned the clothes worn both underneath and over dresses; everyone stated something to the effect of Gone with the Wind.

Actually that question was mentioned in this way: "You go anywhere and you mention plantations and what automatically comes to a person's mind is slavery," said Nick Figueroa, 41, a member of a legislative minority advisory coalition that backs changing the name. Well it certainly didn’t around here. Now let’s just focus on a concept of language changing and dismantling a society.

Political correctness does just that – we believe that it is used often times to change something that one doesn’t like either about their past or a collective – which is certainly the agenda of Nick Figueroa. However this next example is disgusting.

Keith Stokes, who is multiracial and can trace his family's arrival to Newport back centuries, said the debate over the state name ignores Rhode Island's legacy as a colony founded on religious tolerance, where Jews, Quakers and other minorities settled in large numbers after being rejected elsewhere. (Religion?)

"It has all these people who have been cast out because they worship differently and they all land in Rhode Island," said Stokes, who is also executive director of the state's economic development corporation. (Worship?)

Proponents of the name change say they recognize the word "plantations" was not initially associated with slavery, but argue the original meaning is irrelevant. They say "plantations" is inextricably linked to slavery, just as the swastika — traditionally a harmonious symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism — has since been adopted as an emblem of Nazi Germany and is today associated with ethnic hatred.

The ballot question in itself is a victory, regardless of what voters decide, said Harold Metts, a black state senator who helped lead the effort for the referendum.

"At least people understand why we feel the way we feel. For me, that's part of healing," Metts said. We ask politely: What healing? Up to now there have been 1,122 comments at the end of the article. For example: Suzy born and raised in Rhode Island said:

“We don’t even use it; I can’t tell you how many (most) people are unaware that it is in the State’s name.” Rene Moore stated: “Blacks just think the white man owes them everything. The Birthright Citizenship Act

Some Members of Congress have introduced bills to eliminate birthright citizenship for the children of immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally or on temporary visas. The “Birthright Citizenship Act” (HR 1868), introduced by Rep. Nathan Deal (R-GA) has 91 cosponsors. A bill by Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-CA) would restrict birthright citizenship to the children “of a mother who is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.”

Just about everyone who has read the Fourteenth Amendment can clearly see the politicking and potential corruption that could easily be caused by the amendments wording. Yet, we believe one still should see the entirety of the situation at the time of its writing to fully understand how Congressional elected officials could present and rush through a piece of legislation that in all seriousness – no one could be proud of authoring.

As most will admit the U.S. Constitution is more of how the federal government is supposed to limit itself, while producing guidelines on how to ensure safety, protection, laws, courts, and separation of powers within that government. The Constitution is a brilliant document that took a lot of men (and their women) years to produce; however, it was never intended to be scripture or Bible, Torah, or Qur'an like.

So many people revere the Constitution as if it were a holy book or artifact, when in reality it is not. There are clearly some needed changes; however, to get any Congress to do such is out-of-bounds or even reasonable. As we look deeply at the Fourteenth Amendment, hopefully it will become obvious just where changes are needed and why. Therefore, let’s look at some of the issues that the Thirty-ninth Congress had to address much sooner than later.

Of course the matter of Dred Scott v. Sanford needed to be cleaned up before anything else could reasonable get done. In 1857 the Supreme Court had ruled that no black of African descent (even a freed black) could be a citizen of the United States. Furthermore, even prior to the1860s blacks were counted as 3/5ths of a person.

Therefore the Fourteenth Amendment was necessary to over-turn Dred Scott and to settle the question of the citizenship of the newly freed slaves. Now imagine that – need some changes to an unethical law that is antiquated? Congress immediately went to work on it. It must be clearly noted that this was during the Reconstruction Era and the Congress had an enormous amount of matters to settle – especially since the nation had been broken into two parts with separate ideologies on how things were to be managed.

There is a cliché that states: “To the victors go the spoils…” ostensibly meaning if you’ve gone to war and won then you are entitled to take or gather what you want. This was not the case with the United States “Union” government; however, no mistake should be made – over 600,000 men, women, and children died as a direct cause of this war and of course the North wanted some reparations from the South.

If possible think of two separate nations deluxe with governments, legislatures, judiciary, even money designed in your country’s standards. As in all wars the winning side does not want their former enemies to rebuild – especially its war making equipment. Furthermore, think of the South as the agrarian labor intensive providers of the entire nation, who had racked up enormous war debts that they couldn’t pay and for having hundreds of thousands of slaves that instead of being paid for were able to go free. The South had suffered incalculable losses.

The North was bent on what all victors nearly die for – the admission that they had won the war. Moreover, the North wanted various and sundry punishments for those who had left the Union on the State level, Confederate level, including the Confederate president, generals, and other high-ranking men of war.

However, citizenship loomed over those who fought and were not free; Dred Scott needed overturning, and the Fourteenth Amendment needed to be cleared for the forthcoming Civil Rights Act of 1866. (End Part 2)

Political Correctness gone Overboard!?

We are not at all certain just how many visits to our site has been prompted by our ongoing series on Politically Correct musings; however, this much we do know from a statistical point of view only – we sure get a lot of high-minded, intellectual readers – who agree with our perspectives. We now have a classical example of how trying to be to “P.C.” will not only backfire on you; we have – to the letter – examples of how and why we espoused the dangers that political correctness can cause.

The name originated as something of the ‘elitist’ in very hard-lined membership of the Communist Party; ironically, as our understanding of the Central Committee and of the Politburo ("ruling elite") within the then USSR became the better our initial understanding of political correctness literally became immediately recognizable. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left hundreds of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. ‘PC’ is not funny. ‘PC’ is deadly serious.

Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about on this blog – the victim, feminism, gay rights movement, invented statistics, rewritten history, lies, demands, corruption, discrimination and all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic and it still gets worse.

In Democracy and Education (1916) John Dewey, the most influential American educator of the 20th century wrote “dependence denotes a power rather than a weakness. There is always a danger that increased personal independence will decrease the social capacity of an individual…”

Does this explain why when the “progressive educators” got control of the educational system in the U.S. in the 1960s that we began to see an increase in welfare (dependency)? How about those who were in college during that same period? Most of those who were in college during the 1960s are the very same individuals we see running for the presidential nomination of their parties. Yet, please make no mistake about it -- dependency breeds entitlement, and entitlement manifested means bigger government.

It is critically important to understand that the relationship between education and society are inexorably intertwined. Stop and look at the public education system in America. When was the last time we heard anything good about it? Education is the largest platform for any society to transmit the importance of values, morality, and ethics. This direct relationship suggests that if one begins to suffer then the entirety of the nation suffers.

However what could be worse than losing your personal liberties on top of losing your job? Maybe we should ask Juan Williams, an intellectually gifted journalist, who just by merely asking a question in a calm, polite, and civil way that certainly didn’t raise an eyebrow from those who were with him, only to be fired the next morning – from national public radio (NPR) of all places?

Juan Williams: During the “The O’Reilly Factor” he said: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they’re identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

National Public Radio (NPR) please show us where Mr. Williams abridged his freedom of speech rights; furthermore, we would also like to know what is so damning and disrespectful with what Mr. Williams espoused.

We have thanked Bill O’Reilly for his dissent with the amount of political correctness that has been going on albeit unnoticed. We have also acknowledged Mr. O’Reilly whilst bringing this oxymoron to the forefront by using his platform and bull-horn exclaiming, “No! No! I am not going to be dragged into an exchange or politically correct words, if fact, I’m sick of it!”

Political correctness is a cultural idiom that uses language as its power. The entire notion of being politically correct connects with the social domain through being the primary means of communication within the domain, and through being both a site of, and a stake in, struggles for power. In other words everyone uses some means of communication we refer to as language.

The concept of “Dismantling America” through the use of language change, multiculturalism, reckless illegal immigration, and the ever-present Politically Correct Police who we feel is the real culprit behind dismantling our nation.

Addressing this notion of being PC… we had brought forth the notion that the constant changing of names, labels, and identifiers for whatever reason and the backlash of doing so causes a slow dismantling of language of a society, ergo, the actual dismantling of the society itself.

Excuses, excuses, No to Immigration Reform

When an advocacy or special interest group changes the reasons for their cause so many times that people simply cannot or will not consider going further into the “excuse bag” for more spin, reasons, lies, or misfortunes, to continue going after something that is unconscionable at best, and ridiculous at worst. How many other things must America do in order to placate the illegal aliens who are already here?

One would think that at the constant nonstop excrement these organizations and individuals continue to spew, someone would stand up among them and scream, “Let’s do this their way…they’re not going to budge, so we ought to just stop and work this from a different perspective.” Yet as sure as we sit and discuss this scenario there is but another reason America is the bad-guy.

We want to take a moment and list just a few of the names and/or actions America has been called by the so-called “people who want to live here” moreover, most of those doing the name bashing are in fact already living here. In the last four years America has been called an uncaring nation; land full of bigots; the U.S. Attorney General has called us “a nation of cowards;” we have become that nation who is insensitive to the plight of well over 12 million illegal aliens, and although they seem to feel quite comfortable using the U.S. Constitution to protest, address grievances, and assemble wherever and whenever they want to with little or no decorum these people have accused America of racial profiling, racists, and discriminators full of hate.

The unadulterated dung heap we read over the weekend has got to by all admissions take the cake. Here is an example from a writer who is caught; yes, literally caught between doing what is right and the knowing that otherwise is very, very wrong. (Please see this article by clicking here.)

Arguments have centered over how such a bill would affect the undocumented immigrants who are here. But no one is looking at the bigger picture of how such a bill could affect the migrants who are still making their way to the U.S. -- SB 1070 or not. We know they're still coming. The dead bodies in one southern Arizona morgue are proof of that. [1]

It's being reported that authorities have already discovered the remains of 170 migrants who died in the Arizona desert trying to cross the border illegally and that this year will be a record breaker with more bodies yet to be discovered. [2]

But in an odd irony, these migrants who died in the desert were the lucky ones. At least, they didn't die from torture, abuse or execution. Their crime? Trying to cross into the U.S. illegally. [3]

Each of the 72 men and women from Honduras, Brazil, Ecuador and El Salvador were on their way to the United States for a reason. Whether it was to reunite with their families or look for work, each suffered a fate that could be avoided if there was a comprehensive immigration reform bill on the books. [4]

Any person who doesn’t feel something inside of them – anger, rage, or pain – has problems with reality. However, we can be real and address this problem or we could to allow these kinds of grotesque acts continue. For any illegal alien, for any individual who is in this country without documentation is in fact here illegally. This abhorrent situation will not get fixed by itself; moreover, not by any amnesty. It is going to take all sides in this matter to learn to give a little, compromise a little, and respect what laws are on the books for now.

It is very easy to say “…we have a broken immigration system…and we want to help to fix it” when the person who is saying this is also in the country illegally. The problem America has is not only due to an antiquated system of policies; the system also suffers from a federal government who will not get involved; our borders may be porous but 12 million illegal aliens have got to come to their senses and have some culpability in the matter as well. We did not ask for 12 million people to immigrate to our nation – we’re sorry if you feel otherwise but the truth is we, the citizenry of the United States did not ask for this invasion.

And we feel the best policy is to be as real as possible therefore statement such as this one: “As long as the GOP continues to play politics and act in a cowardly way to avoid addressing immigration reform with Democrats, then thanks to them, the U.S. is an accessory to these senseless murders.” [5]

Now for addressing the numbers and references 1 through 5: 1—Not wanting to come across as insensitive, if people are dying trying to come to America to work or be reunited with their families why should we look at that issue? 2 – Seriously one of the issues that the people are making is why is this happening? Why risk life, limb, or head to travel 25 hundred miles or more only to find you’re not welcome? 3 – Please do not try and blame the American people for the deaths that are happening at the hands of drug cartels. It only makes Mexico look far more impotent and sad. 4 – As mentioned earlier a comprehensive immigration reform bill is not going to happen if one continues to espouse hatred toward a political party or, see [5].

“They won’t let us,” says Harry Reid

Here is notwithstanding anything else the worst and most obvious problem with America: Dissention and lack of personal responsibility.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made a push for Hispanic voters Tuesday by arguing Republicans are to blame for the Senate’s inability to move forward with immigration reform efforts. “I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK,” Reid said, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Do I need to say more?”

Reid consistently blames the lack of GOP support for the Senate’s failure to take up immigration reform. “So why don’t we fix it? They won’t let us,” he told Latino voters.

Seriously all things being equal doesn’t Harry Reid sound and present himself as an incapable infant? Oh, “They won’t let us” as if he doesn’t have the majority of the Senate within his political party. Are you ready for this double-speak?

One bipartisan effort, a $600 million border security bill, having passed in the Senate, is headed back to the Senate after a procedural problem caused it to start over in the House. Losing sufficient Republican support, and more GOP members are using harsh rhetoric against illegal immigrants and their families. The problem: All bills that stipulate money are started in the House, and not the Senate Harry!

In April, Reid promised a rally of Hispanic activists in Las Vegas that he would deliver comprehensive immigration reform this year and that there would be "no excuses" for failure.

"Republicans," Reid replied Tuesday when asked what kept him from keeping his promise. First Harry Reid has no authority to make a ludicrous promise such as that; stooping even lower, Reid stated at the same meeting of special interest groups that, “Republicans are blocking comprehensive immigration reform and told Hispanics they shouldn't be treated differently because "their skin's a tone darker" than that of America's early European immigrants.

Quite openly this is the same namby-pamby two faced “Senator” who stated amidst the Iraq War, “…we lost…we’ve already lost the war…” A great vote of confidence for our military – after what he and his party has pulled with health care reform and immigration reform we’re surprised that our good Hispanic’s would even vote for any member of that party, having already been burned.

The DREAM Act and the Unthankful...

We just wanted to put together a small article for our readers today; at least for the early session. It is going to address three distinct topics and we of course will leave the discussion up to you. But you know, it is more than that – anymore these days it seems as though the poker pot is bigger, ostensibly we are negotiating much, much more.

We are going to take a look at the anchor baby phenomenon that is perhaps the most archaic legislation this country has ever known. Then we would like an opportunity to look at the DREAM Act a pending piece of legislation that looks to assist even more those anchor babies and those who were brought to the United States in an act of either desperation or pure stupidity. And finally we’d entertain looking at Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

Where else in the civilized world can a person of any lineage, heritage, or otherwise by happenstance be in the United States at eight and a half months pregnant when that day comes! It’s time to have the baby! And depending on all things being equal, little Junior comes into the world – not of the citizenship where Junior’s parents are from, or even where all of Junior’s relatives come from as well. What? Someone, anyone, please tell me you’re kidding me!

Oh we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but here are all of the developed nations of the world that offer birthright citizenship to babies of tourists and illegal aliens:

United States of America

That's right; every other modern “Developed nation” in the world has gotten rid of birthright citizenship policies. Yet, most of U.S. news media and politicians the last two weeks have ridiculed the comments by some other politicians that it is time for the U.S. to put an end to birthright citizenship for tourists and illegal aliens. What do you think?

Canada was the last non-U.S. holdout. Illegal aliens stopped getting citizenship for their babies in 2009; Australia’s birthright citizenship requirements are much more stringent than those of H.R. 1868 and took effect in 2007. New Zealand repealed in 2006; Ireland repealed in 2005; France repealed in 1993; India repealed in 1987; United Kingdom repealed in 1983; Portugal repealed in 1981 and that ladies and gentlemen leaves the United States the only remaining nation that entitles people citizenship.

The DREAM Act -- Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (The "DREAM Act") is a piece of proposed federal legislation in the United States that was introduced in the United States Senate, and the United States House of Representatives on March 26, 2009. This bill would provide certain illegal immigrant students who graduate from US high schools, who are of good moral character, arrived in the U.S. as minors, and have been in the country continuously for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment, the opportunity to earn conditional permanent residency. (Whoa! Sounds great to us!)

Within the six year period, a qualified student must have "acquired a degree from an institution of higher education in the United States or [have] completed at least 2 years, in good standing, in a program for a bachelor's degree or higher degree in the United States," or have "served in the uniformed services for at least 2 years and, if discharged, [have] received an honorable discharge."

This is where we run into a bit of trouble: Earlier today we ran into an advocacy group’s website where we were treated to this opening paragraph about the DREAM Act:

“The DREAM Act is not without its controversy and some of it understandable. Here at Vivir Latino we have written for years about the complex nature of the bill, especially objections to the military component and how sometimes it is used by politicos and orgs on all sides to promote the good vs. bad immigrant narrative that we find offensive and counterproductive to moving towards justice for all immigrants.” (Emphasis added)

Does “good moral character” have anything to do with facing reality? How about serving those who have served you? Here we see that some illegal aliens are having difficulty with the military clause of the DREAM Act. We firmly believe that if there were less demanding by aliens, less protesting, less advocacy groups – including special interest groups – less enabling, less empowering, and less entitlements just about everyone in this country would have no problem with Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

Outraged by Immigration and Customs Enforcement

The man suspected of drunken driving and killing a Catholic nun in Prince William County this weekend is an illegal immigrant who was awaiting deportation and who federal immigration authorities had released pending further proceedings, police said Monday.

The man, Carlos Montano, a county resident, had been arrested by police twice before on drunk-driving charges and on at least one of those occasions’ county police reported him to federal authorities.

"We have determined that he is in the country illegally. He has been arrested by Prince William County Police in the past," said Officer Jonathan Perock, a police spokesman, who said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified at the time of one of those arrests.

Officer Perock said Montano was in deportation proceedings at the time of this weekend's killing, but was out on his own recognizance. This is unconscionable! All we are asking is for a legitimate answer with some sense of rationale: "Why are various agencies within the purview of the US government granting an individual, who incidentally is pending charges for deportation, allowed the right of being released on his word? An individual determined to be an illegal alien with a past history of crimes?"

A call to ICE was not immediately returned, but the incident raises questions about the agency's policy of only detaining some illegal immigrants awaiting deportation, while releasing others.

The latest ICE statistics show the agency is actually detaining fewer people now on an average daily basis than they did in 2009.

The Sunday morning crash killed Sister Denise Mosier and injured two other nuns as they were driving to a retreat at the Benedictine Monastery in Bristow, Va. The two injured nuns were in critical but stable condition, according to St. Gertrude High School in Richmond, run by the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia.

When it comes to personal responsibility in this country we must face the simple truth of the matter: it doesn’t exist. We have just a few elements to let our readers know how little you mean to the federal government.

I openly admit that the Freedom of Information Act was that “pie-in-the-sky” legal strategy that so many had worked so hard to get recognized. When you hear the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) that is precisely what it means. The American people are entitled to see, handle, copy, everything that has been classified earlier by some ‘sanction’ of the U.S. Federal Government. Had it not been for the dog-fight and pure hustle by a few we sure as Hades would not know many of the things we do today.

For us to read that in Obama’s new Financial Regulations law passed last week provides the Securities and Exchange Commission with a non-disclosure clause and the fall-out should be humongous. Yes, you’ve read that properly. The SEC who allowed Bernie Madoff of Ponzi scheme fame rip-off 60 billion dollars from investors – who used the FOIA to procure the documents to prove Madoff’s crimes – is no longer subject to having to produce any documents of its own. Obama mused:

"[I]... was saying that one of the cornerstones of the sweeping new legislation was more transparent financial markets. Indeed, in touting the new law, Obama specifically said it would “increase transparency in financial dealings."

This is unconscionable. We have become fully aware that this Barack Obama and his machine do not have America, the citizens of America, the American military, or anything that the Founding Fathers worked so tirelessly to frame this person Barack Obama is doing his level best to tear the United States apart and down. Something oozes out of his mouth and before it can show up in print, he’s already gone against everything he said he would do.

A New Perspective on Immigration

We’ve written on this very topic before – many times in fact. However, putting one Christian up against another Christian in anything but Christianity is counter-productive and many become alienated from each other. In other words there have always been factions, denominations, and other man-made “obstacles” that have stood in the way of Christian growth. Though the Bible is not intended to be one of those obstacles it is the mere misrepresentation or used in the interest of those who want to gain for their own personal reasons. Christians as individuals are bound to a high moral imperative, which should be familiar to many of us: Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. These cornerstone precepts, as elaborated by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and elsewhere in the Bible, instruct believers to go so far as to “love your enemies,” “bless those who curse you,” and care for “the least of these my brothers.” Considered alongside Micah 6:8 — “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” — it becomes clear that faithfully living up to those standards is tough. In fact, it is impossible even for those indwelt by the Holy Spirit. In other words, exhibiting Christian mercy and compassion is not for sissies. But do these high standards apply to civil government? To an extent. For instance, U.S. laws reflect such biblical standards as providing for due process, impartial justice, and prohibiting torturous punishment of criminals. But to attempt to require civil authority to display the same manner of mercy or compassion that individual Christians are commanded to display would be ludicrous. Yet that is what certain advocates in the immigration debate unreasonably demand.

We must understand the God-given role of civil government. Romans 13 clearly teaches that civil authorities are God’s agents in their own specific jurisdictions to constrain evil. Civil authority wields the sword of justice to protect the innocent within its jurisdiction and to punish lawbreakers. The mission described here and in I Peter 2 and Titus 3, is to “carry out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” In the Bible, the “things that are Caesar’s” are concentrated on justice. God deputizes civil authorities as part of His common grace, because we live in a fallen world. Evil exists, and government constrains evil within a body politic.

Compassion and mercy, as exercised by an individual, amount to his or her deciding willingly to bear an injustice. It is merciful when a private person turns the other cheek, goes the extra mile, gives up his tunic, and shares with a beggar. However, the government cannot itself do any of those things. Rather, the government only can obligate the members of its society and their common resources.

The American people too often end up being the forgotten victims of “comprehensive immigration reform.” That is certainly the case were the CIR ASAP Act or the Schumer-Reid-Graham proposal to be enacted. The goals of those bills are principally granting legal status to nearly all of the estimated 11 million unlawful alien residents, as well as guaranteeing a flood of job competition from foreign workers every year for the foreseeable future.

The supposed penalties such schemes would impose on illegal aliens amount to what the law currently would require: payment of certain fees, undergo a background check, and some modest step toward English acquisition. These sanctions hardly constitute meaningful penalty or punishment. Plainly, the government’s display of “mercy” toward millions of people who willfully broke this nation’s laws forces its own innocent citizens to stomach substantial injustice.

This was delivered by: Dr. James Edwards confounded supporters of amnesty at a U.S. House hearing on Wednesday by providing scriptural and theological reasons why an amnesty would be unethical.

Crime, Illegals, and a Penis Pump

Proving that the illegal immigration crisis is not limited to Border States, an undocumented alien in a Midwest prison for a felony conviction fleeced U.S. taxpayers for tens of thousands of dollars worth of medical care, including surgery for an inflatable penis pump.

The unbelievable story was recently made public by officials in a tiny Minnesota town—Shakopee—that has been enormously impacted by illegal immigrants. In the last few years, the cost of incarcerating illegal aliens has grown nearly tenfold in the small county (Scott) that encompasses the town of about 25,000 residents.

In response to heightened concern about illegal immigration since a gang-related stabbing in Shakopee, Scott County Attorney Pat Ciliberto has been tallying known costs to taxpayers and gave this example.

It is impossible to know the full cost of illegal immigrants in Scott County receiving public assistance or going through the court system, but the burden on the jail alone is staggering.

The county’s cost for housing inmates with immigration holds has grown nearly tenfold in recent years, reaching more than $307,000 last year, Ciliberto reported. The impact over the last four years totaled $843,600, which doesn’t even include medical coverage. The figure doesn’t even include medical coverage, education or welfare for illegal aliens, which local officials say state and federal laws require them to provide.

After serving 98 days for that felony in the Scott County Jail — at a $12,000 cost to local taxpayers — the man was supposed to be held for deportation. Instead, he was released and assigned a deportation court date even though he has a history of jumping bail. The same illegal immigrant had an arrest warrant for skipping bail involving a separate crime when he got booked in Scott County for identity theft.

Incredibly, the mandatory coverage includes penis pumps, which in this particular case, was billed as an “emergency” medical procedure that cost taxpayers $50,000. Jailed for identity theft, the illegal immigrant has also incurred tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills in addition to that emergency penis pump surgery.

The jail routinely checks the immigration status of foreign-born inmates. But for every illegal alien that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement puts a hold on and actually takes, there are probably two to three the agency ignores, said Scott County Jail Lt. Doug Schnurr. (The jail does not keep statistics on its total illegal-inmate population.)

This illustrates that rural America has indeed been hit by an illegal immigration crisis once thought to affect only Border States. Minnesota officials point out that, although Scott County is thousands of miles from the U.S.-Mexican border, illegal immigrants are devastating their community. That’s why one Scott County lawmaker, Commissioner Barbara Marschall, applauds Arizona officials for saying “we’ve had enough.” (For further reading please see here, just click.) A look at Prenuptial Agreements, something needs a changin'

There are some things that go on in the world that we will never quite figure out. We wrote about this same situation albeit different players not long ago with Heather Mills and Sir Paul McCartney; we wonder if Tiger and his people ever contacted McCartney’s attorney’s. If not, he should have… TIGER Woods and Elin Nordegren are “very close” to finalizing their divorce — insiders say.

The couple — who are ending their marriage because Tiger cheated on Elin with a yacht load of different women — have agreed most aspects of their split, according to RadarOnline.

“They’ve agreed on all the major points,” a source said.

“It’s all been worked out privately. Both Tiger and Elin are very close to finishing the negotiations and filing and signing the paperwork.

Elin is expected to receive approximately $100 million in the settlement.

“When they first started negotiating the divorce, it was very acrimonious,” the source added. “Elin had a lawyer in California who was very, very aggressive. “Things are now very civil between Tiger and Elin – at least in terms of getting the divorce taken care of.”

Just to add our measly two cents: We believe that every man in the civilized world should sit up and take notice of this egregious double standard that exists between divorce “rights” between a man and a woman. What did Elin ever do in 5 years to deserve $100 million dollars!

Why not take her salary for the exact same time she spent with Tiger and a compromise on child-rearing expenses and start the bidding there? As for us that sounds at least fair. Incidentally that is what the U.S. government pays to workers in the event of a worker’s compensation claim.

Yet to think that this man is on the brink of losing custody of his children plus three-quarters of a billion dollars, to a person who was “with” him for what 5 or 6 years?

Just for the sake our sanity we have just a few tidbits of information we’d like to proffer: Obviously Tiger enjoyed his lifestyle as a bachelor because he’s paying almost a billion dollars to get them all back; we urged Tiger NOT to tie the knot because we could easily see where Elin’s head was at regarding the money; what happened to good old fashioned prenuptial agreements?

Bullying 'Open Borders' mob

Today's action was part of a coordinated effort spearheaded by Reform Immigration for America (RIFA), a national organization made up of existing immigrant-rights groups, to force legislators to choose a side in the immigration debate, which has recently intensified due to Arizona's passage of the enforcement-only law SB 1070. The essential question the campaign asks of representatives is "Are you on the side of reform or racism?" (How disgusting is that?)

At about 10:30am, the activists silently entered the second-story office, carrying pro-migrant signs. Two delegates of the crowd led the negotiations; one of whom was a constituent, the other had met with a Dreier aid in Washington D.C. in March of this year. They requested a meeting with Representative Dreier, and were informed that the Congressman only accepts meeting requests in writing. (Simple enough)

Ladies and gentlemen this is anything but the right to assemble peaceably, or petition the government, or anything remotely resembling the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This behavior is bullying, cheap, impromptu, and lacking in civility whatsoever.

Negotiations continued as the activists made their demands clear: "We'll accept a meeting with Dreier, a phone call from him, or a public statement. We'll remain here until we get one of the three." The chief of staff began asking the activists, who by this time had taken seats on the office floor, where they were from. "He automatically assumed that since we had brown faces, we were not his constituents," one woman commented afterwards. "That was very offensive."

Notwithstanding everything else that can be hurled as an insult, this is egregious. Notice who brings up color! Notice who plays the race card. This type of overt behavior is systemic to the minds of those who are trying to have open borders and unfortunately condoned by the special interest groups that support them.

The escalation continued, the chants increasing in volume and intensity.

Staffers attempted to give the activists the particulars of standard operating procedures by explaining the details of protocol. They began to look unnerved. "You were here yesterday!" exclaimed one senior staffer, directing his question at one of the negotiators. "Why didn't you set up an appointment then?" "I was here yesterday as an individual, but today, I'm here representing my community," he answered.

Realizing that they were going to be unable to conduct business as normal, the staffers retreated into a back room. As the chants continued, someone from a neighboring office entered Dreier's, and asked to speak with the white-skinned member of the negotiating team. When asked why he wanted to speak to that particular individual, he asked him, "You're the leader, aren't you?" "We are all leaders, sir," was the polite response

"ICE and the Border Patrol disrupt our families' lives every day when they raid houses at five in the morning!" declared one of the delegated negotiators as a hush fell among the crowd. (Why do you suppose that is?)

Shortly thereafter, sheriff's deputies arrived en masse. A peaceful exit was negotiated, with deputies filming the demonstrators at the egress. Demonstrators refused to be intimidated, however, and set up a picket line in front of the office building.

"Dreier, remember! We vote in November!" was the rallying cry; just before the final chant of "We’ll be back!" was raised. One activist, as student from Cal Poly Pomona, shared traditional snacks with the hungry participants, and a spirit of fellowship was felt as shared as the action was evaluated and plans for the next steps were taken.

"Our disabled friend pointed out that the building has no elevator," said a young man. "What does that say about how accessible Dreier is to his constituents when his office is not even accessible to the disabled?" What is this supposed to accomplish? Illegal Aliens drifting south toward the border

With an incredible tone in his voice, Don Severe, a vocal opponent of illegal immigration who favors stronger measures, including certain incarceration says, “I doubt it, frankly,” referring the illusion of increased border security at the Arizona border. "It sounds good, but what are they going to do? We have a very serious problem."

The “serious problem” Severe is referring to is the border crossers are so determined, and so impervious to a long-running buildup of federal agents and technology that few in Arizona think President Obama's recent decision to dispatch 1,200 National Guard soldiers and $500 million will make much difference. Ostensibly it appears as though Obama is doing something; yet, in fact the folks doing the border crossing really are not deterred at all.

As an aside we would like to offer the old tale of “The little boy who cried wolf!” scenario insofar as the illegal aliens know what works and what doesn’t work. They’ve heard about a build-up, they’ve heard of technology and again they’ve heard more but never quite witnessed the delivery.

Along a rugged stretch of the Mexican border in southern Arizona, U.S. authorities captured 687 illegal immigrants in a 24-hour period last week, three times the number captured near San Diego. During the past eight months, agents have apprehended 168,000 migrants along this sector of the border. That is a problem folks!

Thousands of people who disagree with the Arizona law, known as SB 1070, were expected to march through the streets of Phoenix on Saturday, demanding federal immigration reform. Meanwhile, the carrot dangling of jobs, homes, and the “American Way” by special interest groups and irresponsible decision-making by a lack luster Commander-in-Chief keep fueling the engines of illegal aliens to come, come, and come with reckless disregard for our manner of laws.

In fact rather than constantly giving in to these so-called demands by illegal aliens, special interest groups, and every Utopian wanderer out there, we believe there should be a moratorium placed on all immigration to the United States. And because this is a war – face it people – our country is being invaded and knowing of our military services are in Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, and everywhere else at any nations beckon-call, we also propose a moratorium on naturalizing for citizenship any other individual until said immigration mess is set up and operational.

Consequences of illegal immigration

When are the people of this nation going to open their eyes? The special interest groups involved with illegal’s from south of the border – you should know the major groups by now – the National Council of the Race (La Raza), Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), and of course the Open Borders Lobby which is made up of coalition of radical groups spearheaded by such entities as the National Lawyers Guild, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

As we have mentioned the notion of political correctness as a means of dismantling language however, even more pronounced is blurring the distinction between citizens and non-citizens, these groups depict any calls for the strict enforcement of immigration laws as manifestations of racism, ethnocentrism, and xenophobia. They seek to radically change American values and culture through mass immigration and the political mobilization of "alienated" immigrant groups. (Further reading please click here.)

Let’s examine the tactics and strategies used by these and a lot of other special interest groups to achieve their ends. What is the problem with calling something or someone precisely what it is? An illegal alien is an illegal alien no matter how many times they enter the country. Rather than refer to them as illegal aliens some P.C. joker decided on the “undocumented” phenomenon that is sure to personify those who have broken our immigration laws.

By breaking our immigration laws rather than have prestigious companies (The Ford Foundation), as well as the U.S. government continuing to fund these special interest groups, these entities should stop immediately with the “soft landing” approach and get reasonably correct by identifying these individuals for exactly what they are: law breaking soon to be criminal illegal aliens.

And let’s just be truthful okay? There have been a number of promises made to the citizenry of the U.S.A. without ever coming to fruition. Illegal aliens love to sing along with their special interest compadres about how they’ve been promised various entitlements that have gone undelivered.

Forty years ago, the most prominent Hispanic civil rights organization — the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)—supported English as the common national language and assimilation as a citizenship goal. Membership in LULAC was limited to American citizens and its code stated: "Respect your citizenship; honor your country, maintain its traditions in the minds of your children; incorporate yourself in the culture and civilization."

We are aware of what can happen when particular goals change –albeit through special interest, advocacy groups, coupled with the total reckless disregard by the United States government. In an alarming example of how sanctuary cities can protect terrorists, a Pakistani man arrested for the Time Square bombing admitted on a city license application that he entered the U.S. illegally and authorities took no action.

That’s because he applied for the cabbie license in a state (Massachusetts) that openly protects illegal immigrants from deportation. Local law enforcement agencies throughout Massachusetts have don’t-ask-don’t-tell policies regarding illegal aliens and in this case the Boston Police Department has for years known that the terrorist, So Pir Khan, was in the country illegally.

Khan was recently arrested in an FBI terror sweep for his involvement in the Time Square bombing earlier this month. The Boston cab driver is one of three men who funneled money to the fellow Pakistani terrorist (Faisal Shahzad) who tried to blow up New York’s Time Square with a series of bombs hidden in a sports utility vehicle. We can’t say what sickens us more – the pro-illegal immigration special interest groups, or those who are deliberately passing out the misrepresentations and misinformation campaigns against the one entity who is trying to comply with what is federal law; moreover, the one entity that is trying something even remotely close to immigration reform.

The following is from Newsweek.com except for obvious commentary brought to you by our staff. Today came the news that the National Association of Evangelicals is launching a new campaign in support of comprehensive immigration reform. It'll debut with a full-page ad in Roll Call on Thursday that will argue for including a path to citizenship for immigrants who are in the country illegally.

Of course our first question is why? Why argue for including those individuals who have knowingly, willingly, and without looking ahead toward the consequences of their actions, just decided to help themselves to the comforts of American living. Does America stand for "rewards to law breakers"? Our second question is a little more challenging: Who is aware of the associated costs that are without question just ahead as well?

The question is this: If there is a path to citizenship for illegal aliens in the country, then, upon receiving some residency status, who will be paying the costs of reunification of the families’ bill that is being negotiated as we type? And is the NAE going to flip the bill for the homosexual partners of not just illegal’s but for all of the homosexual couples on the planet?

Back to Newsweek article: Among the signatories are Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention and Mathew Staver of Liberty University School of Law, part of the institution founded by Jerry Falwell. According to CNN, the NAE will follow up by lobbying Republican leaders in Washington to negotiate with Democrats to pass a bill.

There is a reason why some Republican’s don’t want to negotiate with Democrats on this particular legislation. Democrats have beyond equivocation shown their true colors of immorality, lack of ethics, lying, misrepresentation, and of course, misinformation to the press that no one can deny in the form of the HealthCare bill which according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is now an additional $100 billion in lack of funding exactly what Republicans warned about. Furthermore, there is some underlying skullduggery in the form of stimulus and earmarks given out by Democrats; therefore, would you want to deal with them?

Newsweek: This is a notable development. When Congress last tackled immigration reform in 2007, the association wasn't on board. That contributed to the effort's demise, according to the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, head of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, which represents about 16 million Latino evangelicals. As he espoused later that year, "If white evangelicals had supported immigration reform, that [bill] would have passed." (Could this be racist?) He spent the next few years arguing passionately for his white brethren to join the cause. His and others' pleas, along with the fact that Hispanics are one of the fastest- growing segments of the evangelical community, eventually brought the NAE around.

The problem, however, is that there's a disconnect between evangelical leaders and the grassroots. According to a 2006 Pew Research Center poll, white evangelicals have deeper misgivings about immigration than either white mainline Protestants or white Catholics. Sixty-three percent of the evangelicals said immigrants threaten "traditional American customs and values," compared with 51 percent of the Protestants and 48 percent of the Catholics. Moreover, 64 percent of the evangelicals said immigrants "are a burden because they take our jobs, housing, and health care," compared with 52 percent of the Protestants and 56 percent of the Catholics.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said it’s “unlikely” that the Senate would move on immigration reform this year.

Durbin said that a tough political environment, especially for Republicans, made it all but politically impossible to move forward with an immigration bill.

A group of Democratic senators released their outline for comprehensive immigration legislation several weeks ago. That proposal, by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), would emphasize border security before providing a path to U.S. citizenship for illegal immigrants. Reid himself has acknowledged that the current Senate make-up, where Democrats need at least one Republican vote to advance legislation, made immigration reform tougher. But the majority leader had for a time planned to move immigration next, after Democrats wrap up their Wall Street reform bill.

And if you believe that excuse than perhaps we can interest you in some land in the southwest Florida everglades! If all you need is one ANYTHING and you can’t even get that then the root of the problem is far deeper that what Senator Reid is alleging. Furthermore, what does this alleged immigration legislation say? We believe it’s another red herring put forth by the Democrat machine with further misinformation campaigns by special interest / advocacy groups.

The real issue is – not Republican or Democrat or bipartisanship – the issue is political gain for whoever allows amnesty for some 11 to 20 million illegal aliens that have helped themselves to this country.

In addition this issue is very much about spending, spending, and finishing what one has started. It is alleged that Republicans are foot dragging because of border security. Let’s see here – approximately 6 billion dollars has been spent on an incompatible design as put forth by Boeing based on a report – not even a model! How much of the “fence” is actually built? It would be easiest to ask any member of Congress what’s up with the fence; yet, not any two can tell you. Are our borders secured? No!

Allow us please to vacillate: “Boycotting an entire state that you don’t particularly agree with…” For what we ask? Arizona is merely trying to reinforce a law placed on the books by the 107th Congress which pursuant to United States Code, TITLE 8, CHAPTER 12, SUBCHAPTER II, Part VII §1304(e) and §1306(a);

§1304(e) Personal possession of registration or receipt card, penalties;

Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both.

As our title indicates one of the more basic problems with humankind is the notion that whenever they hear, read, or see something that sparks that ‘passion’ within them – one of two very predictable outcomes will happen – the first is running off at the mouth, spewing things that are unreasoned and pathetic and two, in one’s moment of irresistible passion they tend to typify the research that shows when a human being is under stress, aggravation, or passion then the normal brain function ceases and thinking and reasoning become clouded.

“One indisputable fact is that from the time of America's "founding," immigration has been crucial to this nation's growth--and also a source of conflict. Anyone who doubts this should re-watch Martin Scorcese's grossly underrated film Gangs of New York, in which newly arriving Irish Catholic Whites found themselves pitted against "Native" Whites on the eve of the Civil War. We know that this particular immigration explosion lasted well into the 1920s.”

“They are coming from Latin America. From Asia. From Africa. From the darker and more "exotic" parts of the globe. They work hard. They raise families. They play by the rules. And they are terrified of being deported. They are called "foreigners" and "illegal aliens" as if their contributions to our society, indeed their very existence, was somehow undeserving of respect.

The above-referenced paragraphs are without question the why so much yelling, screaming, protesting, and eventually violence and rioting become the end result of public awareness. Sure there can be no argument that immigration has greatly contributed to this Nation’s growth; subsequently, immigration also inherently brings with it the sources of many conflicts. But the grave travesty here is that the author only presents a ‘partial rendition’ which under the current circumstances is blatantly irresponsible.

The writer, Kevin Powell, leads one to believe that newly arriving ‘Catholic Whites’ found themselves pitted against ‘Native Whites’ on the eve of the Civil War. What Mr. Powell does not mention is the fact that at its original founding Catholics weren’t even allowed consideration of migrating. Moreover, Mr. Powell writes as though all of this became manifest on American soil. Mr. Powell in a very sordid way writes so as to draw conclusions from inaccurate and partial information. The fact of the matter is that Irish Catholics and Irish Protestants have been literally at war for centuries. The conflict was not born here; it merely resumed as more immigrants came.

Speaking in terms of a new mass immigration (normally referred to as “waves”) Mr. Powell states the rather obvious: Immigrants are now coming from Latin America, Asia, Africa, and ‘darker more “exotic” parts of the globe. Therefore, we find it incumbent upon ourselves to ask Kevin Powell this question:

Do you believe that if ‘they played by the rules’ there would still be a terror of being deported? Furthermore, hard work and raising families in itself is an altogether different matter than being referred to as an “illegal alien.” We would also submit that the manner with which they arrived in this Nation – does in fact cast a question as to assimilation and other matters of becoming American citizens.

Statements such as “Yes, Arizona's new anti-immigration law identifying, prosecuting, and deporting illegal immigrants is detestable, inhuman, and, no doubt, racist toward the mostly Latino population affected by it.”

Here again we would entertain asking if you have in fact read Arizona’s new legislation referred to as SB1070? We ask because it is more than evident that little, if any, critical thinking went into your espousal of ‘anti-immigration, prosecuting, and deporting’ an individual who entered our Nation illegally – without proper physical or mental examinations, visa requirements, passports, and other forms of identification, not to mention language requirements – and other manner of laws would lead you think of this overt law breaking as ‘detestable, inhuman, or racist?

“So, yes, let's boycott Arizona until this law is overturned. If Arizona is now going to stop and harass Latinos as if they were some kind of fascist state, then that state does not deserve a dime of your hard-earned money. But let's not stop there. As for us we believe that borders are for a reason as are, unfortunately, locks on our personal property. We simply ask that perhaps one would be better served if they read the legislation then reflected on it (understanding that it’s been a federal law mandated by Congress) over fifty years ago. As Arizona goes, so should America

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation.

Furthermore as an asset to the “Team USA” attitude that exists in the Great State of Arizona this law would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal.

Although the legislation still needs Governor Jan Brewer’s signature, we all must remember that Gov. Brewer is very much ‘tough of illegal immigration’ as evidenced by her calling up Arizona’s National Guard to assist in border measures.

Under the measure, passed Tuesday by Arizona's lower house, after being passed earlier by the state Senate, foreign nationals are required to carry proof of legal residency.

Immigrants' rights groups roundly criticized the bill. "The objective is to make life miserable for immigrants so that they leave the state," said Chris Newman, general counsel for the Los Angeles-based National Day Laborer Organizing Network. "The bill constitutes a complete disregard for the rights of nonwhites in Arizona. It effectively mandates racial profiling."

Hogwash! Bull squat by the barrel! If for only once there is a state seeing to the needs of its citizens, for Chris Newman to disagree under the disguise of “racial profiling” is abhorrent and utterly sickening.

In a statement, Tuesday Rep. John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills) called the measure "a comprehensive immigration enforcement bill that addresses the concerns of our communities, constituents and colleagues." The bill in some ways toughens up a situation that the Obama administration had tried to roll back. Under a program known as 287g, some local law enforcement agencies were trained to enforce federal immigration laws by checking suspects' immigration status.

Raising Arizona!

The recently passed Arizona immigration measure, Arizona Senate Bill 1070, has ignited a firestorm of controversy. Opposition from Latino members of Congress to the clergy has decried the bill as tantamount to making racial profiling not only legal, but de facto policy for Arizona police.

Not more than a month ago – on this site we identified and defined what “racial profiling” actually is. First, "racial profiling" is the inclusion of racial or ethnic characteristics in determining whether a person is considered likely to commit a particular type of crime or an illegal act or to behave in a “predictable” manner. Admittedly this is where the argument begins. Predicated upon the characteristics of the crime and the perpetrators who committed the crime is always law enforcement’s first consideration. We believe that if any crime is more prominent in one group of individuals predicated upon the groups shared identity then “racial profiling” cannot exist. (Please see this from just a month ago!)

The Latino members of Congress – or factions as referred to by James Madison – are referring to is the concept of “offender profiling.” Offender profiling has been perceived to be directed most often toward non white individuals. Who said that being politically correct was actually correct?

This is of course a result of a society influenced by government and the special interest groups that have vested interests in whatever they intend or hope to get done. In other words, this is where words ‘CoLliDe (collide)’ and all measures of political correctness come back and begin to haunt those who are so adamant in using them.

Arizona’s decision to advance such a draconian and highly questionable piece of legislation reveals the moral crisis our nation is facing as we confront options on how to best deal with illegal immigration and the millions of families who live and work in our midst,” said Angelica Salas of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), in a statement. She warns that, if passed into law, the bill would open the state to a raft of racial profiling and wrongful arrest lawsuits.

Can we please just deal with the problem without adding to it? Never in our collective histories have we seen so much uproar from bleeding hearts of the advocacy groups. Just examine the paragraph above: “…draconian and highly questionable legislation…moral crisis our nation is facing as we confront options on how to deal best” with illegal’s who’ve already broken our laws and continue to do so unabatedly and without due respect to our nation.

And then to warn Arizona’s legislators “...would open the state to a raft of racial profiling and wrongful arrest lawsuits.” Speaking of which we have espoused this from the highest of hill tops – threatening by advocacy groups, special interest organizations, and factions within our own government is but one the very matters that is causing the “moral crisis” in our nation.

“Arizona’s SB 1070 is a no-nonsense, common-sense example of a state acting where the federal government is failing,” says Dustin Carnevale, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). “This legislation is a reaction to the inaction of Washington with regard to border security and immigration enforcement."

It gets worse still inasmuch as Immigration Reform is at issue. As for us it doesn’t seem copasetic whatsoever to be threatening voter turnout at elections, mass rioting in the streets, and not even open to compromise by any of these groups when it comes to true immigration reform. We would argue that the threatening behavior, violence, and complete disregard for the nation’s laws, is not the kind of portrayal one wants to make in the interest of reform.

But the legislation is warranted, say others. While illegal immigration has trailed off recently, high profile cases such as the killing of rancher Robert Krentz have raised public awareness. And, according to the Department of Homeland Security, the state has seen a 42 percent increase in the number of illegal immigrants living there between 2000 and 2009.

The American people deserve a solution

"Surely we can all agree that when 11 million people are living here illegally, that's unacceptable,'' Obama said at the naturalization ceremony. "The American people deserve a solution.''

"If we continue to fail to act at a federal level, we will continue to see misguided efforts opening up around the country,'' the president said.”That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona.''' Efforts there, he said, "threatened to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe.'

And yet again there is going to be agreement and disagreement with both points the president is making. No person involved with the Unites States could ever argue that there has been continued failure – on all accounts – by the federal government. Albeit decades of doing absolutely nothing, to failed programs, and worse still are the occasions when projects have started as “window dressing” yet after the celebration is over the initiatives brought by either party or both remain unattended.

Further we believe that the president should be speaking in terms of substantiated factual terms rather than in subjective opinions. But after all, President Obama is a politician and as such talks out of both sides of his mouth. His attack at the legislature and governor of Arizona is misguided as well as untrue. President Obama speaks of threatening “…basic notions of fairness…” for those same 11 million people who he open admits are here illegally and as such it’s unacceptable.

Therefore, we ask the president: Who is being unfair? This nation suffers from the unrestrained “come-and-go-as-you-please” syndrome that has brought the throngs of war to America’s southern border. Untold tons of marijuana, cocaine, and heroine are but a chip of what’s happening at the expense of our lack of border security.

If you want to stop the rampant drug trade within the urban areas of America’s cities we suggest you start with the southern border. People everywhere from New York to California complain about drugs being bought and sold on the streets or even in the classroom. Yet, it does not take a Harvard Law degree to figure out if one wants to stop guns in the classrooms, drugs in the streets or even the notion of blacks are killing themselves off, one should start at the southern border.

Lastly for today when is anyone in Washington D.C. going to realize the quality of people streaming into this country, or hanging out in its border towns are simply unacceptable?

We all could use some passion!

If there is any one particular issue that we have a passion about in our country it is the federal government’s inability to do – and in most cases – attempt to do what they allege they’re going to do in matters relative to illegal immigration. Therefore, for many of us we have made this our top priority; albeit, exposing, educating, stirring awareness, or doing what we can to help the current USA’s defunct immigration policy.

One would think that if something was as bad as America’s immigration and naturalization policies are, naturally for most humans common sense tells us to slow down with what is going on vis-a-vie border security and who we are letting into this country. Make no mistake about it folks – the United States has done well defending our nation and influences just about every other nation on the planet. Yet, Americans are without question the most complacent people on earth as well.

Just some brief “Tales from The Crypt” statistics to illustrate a point. Consider the amount of people who attend church on Sunday’s regularly. Nationally, of the 100% of parishioners present in the church only 50 percent or less remember what the sermon was about on Sunday night. And by the following Wednesday that figure drops well below 20 percent who remember what was discussed in church the previous Sunday. Complacency? You tell me.

Applied a different way however using the same parameters goes something like this: In the last two decades there has been no less than 22 different and distinct aggressive acts against the United States, her people, and her interests primarily on U.S. soil, yet some also involved Americans aboard ships, others in the air, at U.S. Embassy’s, and other members of foreign service.

Where is the press with these issues? Moreover, where is America in these matters of death and destruction? There is a distinct difference within our country as to what people remember or not. Ask anyone on the East coast what they were doing on September 11, 2001 and every one can just about recite where they were and what they were doing. However, within the same nation if we were to ask people on the West coast (and we have) there exists a remarkable difference in recalling what one was doing.

The point? Given the attitudes of congressional officials – in particular – the senate with regards to illegal immigration, the status of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and the overall effectual damage being done to America, why not entertain the notion of while reforming, we just reform all matters of immigration out of the senate’s purview. In other words, get the INS out of the senate’s hands.

Right now our lofty congressional officials have less than a 20% approval rating. Is our illegal immigration status even a part of that approval rating? And lastly, how about the “Corruption Chronicles of Congress” are they in the mix of the approval rating? We have but one last sentiment; predicated upon the amount of Congressional members that in some way are under investigation for ethics, financial, or other violations of the code – how much of this “I’m bigger than the law” attitude roles from Congress to athletic stadiums, NFL, NBA, or MLB? What degree of their actions is influencing our youth right now?

Now...what about border security

An ambitious, multibillion-dollar project to hot-wire the new Southwest border fence with high-tech radar, cameras and satellite signals has been plagued with serious system failures and repeated delays and will probably not be completed for another seven years – if it is finished at all.

There, the supposedly state-of-the-art system combining sensor towers, communication relay systems and unattended ground sensors has been bogged down with radar clutter, blurred imagery on computer screens and satellite time lapses that often permit drug smugglers and undocumented workers to slip past U.S. law enforcement agents, government officials candidly admit.

"It was a great idea, but it didn't work," said Mark Borkowski, executive director of the electronic fence program at the Homeland Security Department.

"One of the kickers was that these radars had too many problems with clutter," Borkowski said. "Wind moving a tree shows up on the radar. And if you have too much of that, how do you find the person in the clutter? Same with cameras. The image is blurry."

The problems have prompted Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to order a department-wide assessment of the technology project once billed as the capstone to the controversial 2,000-mile combined physical and electronic border fence.

Now the project, which spent $2.4 billion between 2005 and 2009, has hit so many snags that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is freezing its funding.

“Not only do we have an obligation to secure our borders, we have a responsibility to do so in the most cost-effective way possible,” wrote DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano in a press release Tuesday. “The system of sensors and cameras along the Southwest border known as SBInet has been plagued with cost overruns and missed deadlines.”

We are not one’s that put our thumbs to our noses and go ‘na-na-na-nana-na’ however, we are the sort that does say: When are these people in government going to wake up? People! The original cost estimates and length of the fence were supposed to be around 2,000 miles and six billion dollars; it is now rather obvious that none of this effort is near completion at all.

Therefore, we ask the central government specifically, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), now what? People, this is just another failure upon failure above failure that ostensibly happens every time the government gets involved with anything.

Just for the sake of reason we submit to you that NASA put a man on the moon and returned to earth using technology that amounted to less that the ancient Apple II far before the Mac was even a thought.

Ladies and gentlemen far be it from us – yet it appears that the U.S. government doesn’t want a legitimate means of security our borders. Several of us here have loveable “man’s best friend” in dogs, and to keep them from going out into busy traffic or even go exploring our Invisible Fence has never failed us.

Yet another Visa Waiver participant…

This is one way of creating an open borders situation without anyone ever really finding out about it. Thirty-seven (37) countries are now in – and this is of great concern – the Visa Waiver Program where foreign nationals can be admitted in to the United States of America for business or tourism for a period of up to ninety (90) days without prior visa approval.

The Federal Register reported that on March 4, 2010, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in consultation with the U.S. Department of State (DOS) has designated Greece as an eligible country to participate in the Visa Waiver Program where their nationals can be admitted to the United States for business or tourism for a period of up to ninety (90) days without prior visa approval. The new rule is effective April 5, 2010.

And folks, as for us this is legislating “on the fly” so to speak insofar as who, what, where, and when were any of the American people advised or alerted to this reckless act of planning and implementing? This is the great concern that we alluded to in our first paragraph. Does anyone recall the notion of “systemic failure”?

Systemic failure became the readily acceptable politically correct terminology for every agency in this country to have failed miserably when notified by a boy’s father that the boy was involved with radical jihadist’s and was planning to destroy something in the United States. Systemic failure is the notion of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing as illustrated so eloquently insofar as now there are two huge government agencies – DHS and DOS – doing the designating, designing, and implementing but does any of this seem like something is missing?

Yes! Culpability – who is going to inherit the systemic failure when something gets blown up? This is precisely the problem with government initiated programs – especially within the arena of immigration reform. Furthermore, it is overwhelming obvious that these government agencies have not even come to a bonafide declaration of 287g (law enforcement trained in handling of illegal's) let alone whose taking responsibility when the next aircraft or building or whatever goes up in smoke?

Greek nationals will first need approval from the DHS’ Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Applicants must log on to the ESTA website, fill out the questionnaire, print the notice containing the approval code, and continue on with their travel plans. This is great news for Greek nationals as relations between Greece and the U.S. have improved significantly over the years and are now welcomed to the family of countries eligible for the visa waiver program.

This is not the XIV Amendment which seems to dole out clauses for every intended reason; nope, this is a no special clauses deal albeit many could and are arguing this egregious situation as we write.

Fourteen immigrants who were in the country illegally when their relatives were killed in the World Trade Center attacks are still waiting to gain permanent residency, and their lawyer said their tenuous immigration status could be imperiled if Congress does not act.

The 14 are the spouses or children of workers who were killed when the twin towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001, many of them while on the job at the Windows on the World restaurant. All received payments from the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund ranging from $875,000 to $4.1 million, but because they are in the country illegally; they have lived in fear of being deported. And because they do not have proper identification, it can be difficult to get a driver’s license, a job or a place at school.

Yet on the other hand the problem exacerbates when awarding someone that much money and it still is not enough. Now the illegal aliens want either citizenship, permanent resident status, or a green card for their efforts which of course prompts us to ask: What efforts? In addition to already getting special privileges these people still want more.

To move the bill forward, it will be crucial to allay fears that it could set a precedent for other illegal immigrants, a concern expressed by Representative Steve King, Republican of Iowa, a longtime opponent of the measure. “Why should these families be treated any different than the families of illegal immigrants who die in accidents or by natural causes while in the United States?” he wrote in a statement after the bill was approved by a House judiciary subcommittee in July.

The bill was painstakingly worded to apply only to the 14 family members whose undocumented relatives died in the Sept. 11 attacks. Originally, 16 people were in the group, but two were granted visas for providing prosecutors assistance in the sentencing trial of convicted Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.

Two glaring issues shine in our eyes like beacons of future stress: One, there are several questions that needed to be asked of the two illegal aliens who provided apparently credible evidence to prosecutors; however, why is it only for the money or proper visas that allow them access both in and out of the country as rewards? Why wasn’t the information they had revealed before special amenities were being handed out? Of the second part our question is why are we giving people who have broken our laws millions of dollars?

Where is the grateful, appreciative attitude?

We have tried to be as pleasant, forbearing, and empathic as humanly possible with our understanding of immigration reform. However, somewhere in this mix of “immigrant rights, Four Pillars strategy,” and well, for something that quite openly is not on the favorable side of the American people, one with a lick of common sense might deduce that the approach is completely wrong.

We don’t want to beleaguer this point – yet it would be criminally negligent not to at least mention it – where are the humble, respective, and integrity minded – in other words, the grateful side of even negotiating comprehensive immigration reform? Sure as anything the ‘wants’ of the proposed beneficiaries come in as demands rather than respectful bargaining.

One needs to appreciate the reality of matters regarding immigration pursuant to how other nations deal with it from around the world. We’ve mentioned this before in other writings, yet we’ll sum it up briefly here. We implore anyone with any sense of common sense to immigrate to North Korea, China, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, or Australia without the proper documentation. Go on…go!

Some of us on staff here literally witnessed a young woman who had overstayed her visa in Sydney, Australia taken to the airport containment center, processed, and then flown back to New Zealand. Her boyfriend was involved with our company at that time and we did everything we could to sponsor her, including employment, living accommodations, transportation, and income demonstrating to the Australian authorities that she was not a burden to anyone, moreover, she wasn’t a burden on their system.

Please don’t misunderstand – we worked together with the Australian authorities regarding inspections of property, employment, and income; however, we nonetheless could see and comprehend why the Aussies were so adamant about proceeding with this particular immigration violation.

Folks, we had found out only later that she had been given every break in the history of the Australian Customs Enforcement Agency including extensions on her current visa, letter upon letter of warning, meetings within the customs agency with the proverbial “you do this and we’ll do that…” even cancelling court and deportation orders! But if there was any one thing that sunk her case it was the arrogance, abuse, and willful disregard of that nation’s hospitality and efforts to work with her. In other words, she went to meetings with the “look at what I’ve done for you” attitude, as well as the “there are others that need deporting more than I do…” which I’m sure you’ll agree is not the attitude to have when someone else holds your fate and politely at that.

Just one more thing before we end for our mid-day edition and it deals with the aforementioned countries listed above. Some of these nations don’t care if you’re a journalist writing great propaganda for them; others could care less about Spring break or the notion of wanting to see the world. In some of these nations an illegal immigrant goes straight to jail without a hearing, trial, or even contacting the United States authorities – the way the prisoners live, and what little burden they are on the nation the better.

For some reason this appreciative and grateful attitude of coming into the United States and finding work, bank, housing, transportation, and being able to send your children to local schools and still receive government subsidies has now been completely run over by special interest and advocacy groups dictating what they want. And it is leaving a real sour taste in America’s mouth.

Amnesty concerns and the missing $800 million

So typical of the U.S. government primarily through the Department of Homeland Security who amidst the reports not only has lost track of 800 million dollars ($800,000,000) yet, even more incredible – is that payment has been received by Boeing Inc, based on ‘mock ups’ of how the then alleged “invisible fence” was going to work. Reports from earlier this morning state that the entire system is inoperable and has never been fully functional.

Not that we would even suspect of any wrong-doing on the parts of DHS, USCIS, FEMA, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Secret Service, or the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). However, in lieu of what is occurring now regarding this unethical Health –care Reform bill and as long as it includes the actions of humankind, suffice it to say that everyone would be much happier and at ease of the untold scores of funds gone missing.

Once again according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, Immigration Benefits: Actions Needed to Address Vulnerabilities in Process for Granting Permanent Residency, as mentioned in our previous post one of the largest and looming concerns looming is that the intra-agency communication has not been clear and or effective. From the GAO report: Vulnerabilities:

The same applies for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). “In addition to identifying potential national security concerns from checking an alien’s name against watch lists in Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS), name checks against the FBI’s investigative files have uncovered individuals who raised national security concerns.

As the GAO report documents: “We reviewed a random sample created by FDNS of FBI name check results provided to USCIS to ascertain the types of national security concerns identified during the name check process. We found that the FBI provided information to USCIS that these individuals:

Had associated with terrorist organizations, were agents of foreign governments, were involved in criminal activities, or had engaged in espionage against the United Sates. In addition, while USCIS has some data on applicants with national security concerns, the data are limited because USCIS’ – Computer Linked Application Information Management System (CLAIMS) – was not designed to capture and routinely generate reports on the extent, type, and nature of national security threats posed by applicants.

For example, this system does not routinely provide statistics on the visa categories used (family- or employment-based applications) and whether the immigration benefits were granted or denied. Such information could be useful to help identify the characteristics of applicants who could pose national security and terrorism-related concerns, and the avenues they may use to stay in the United States.

In a manner of speaking it’s the blind leading the blind but worse. All of law enforcement is not involved from the ground up and this is tragic. Terrorists and or illegal aliens start on the ground – where 287g is encouraged (local LE assisting USCIS), and then all federal agencies incorporating a system that communicates with all of the others. This is the only way that “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” will ever work.

Time to get real about Immigration

Wanting to be as compassionate and empathetic as possible; moreover, not wanting to sound insensitive to anyone’s plight, we’ve got to admit quite openly that within the last four months we have heard nothing but stories of how some people are suddenly surprised – and to their utter shock are experiencing life changes – at the behest of an agency, or mixed up paper work, anything at all with the exception of themselves.

Most of what is presented in this article is predicated on Steve Ralls’ article in the Huffington Post. Basically Mr. Ralls is writing about the impact of a new documentary being presented by the special interest group, "Immigration Equality." We advocate immigration reform perhaps more than any group on this planet. Ah yes! There are exceptions to what advocacy groups, the LGBT community, special interest groups, and some members of congress have in mind vis-a-vie their futile attempt at “reform.” (See article here.)

The propaganda machine has been started-up and just about firing on all cylinders now. We feel a responsibility to inform our readers and the general public in the hopes of raising public awareness and public opinion that will confirm to this particular administration that just like health care reform the “We the people…” do not want – or even an attempt at – shoving their version of” immigration reform” down our throats like some abetted authoritarian government would do; consequently, we are asking – stop changing America with an iron fist such as Soviet Russia, China, and Cuba.

Just a couple of quick notes on the subject:

The Mortgage E-Verify Act that would require a mortgagor to be verified through E-Verify when applying for a modification of a home loan owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac as produced by Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Texas). "As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, I am happy to introduce my bill, the Mortgage E-Verify Act, which would require, as a condition for modification of a home mortgage loan held by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac or insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), that the mortgagor be verified under the E-Verify program," Rep. Marchant said in a press release. (Additional reading here.) Chain migration was recklessly put into our immigration system 50 years ago. At first glance it seems relatively harmless as it allows immigrants to bring in not only their spouse and minor children but also their brothers, sisters and adult children. But that starts a chain that cannot be stopped. Each of those adult relatives can bring in his/her spouse, leading to the mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. All of that leads to the immigration of the Anchor Immigrant’s cousins, aunts, uncles and the in-laws of the in-laws of the in-laws. Now let’s add some kind of accountability for America’s very lenient refugee status as well as other forms of Chain migration such as the LGBT community’s 'new family doctrine' and the espousing of ‘rights’ that don't seem to exist. Half of all immigrant households with children are on welfare. HALF! These are supposed to be people doing "jobs Americans won't do." Sounds more like they're collecting government benefits U.S. citizens can't get!

Advocacy groups with Attitude!

It has been alleged that those who have strong opinions most likely have strong biases based on their causes. We have found this particularly true when reading, speaking with, or even reasoning with members of “Immigration Reform” advocacy groups. Clearly what has come to us is the amount of hatred against anyone who disagrees with their agenda. Today we share with you some of what we’ve witnessed.

First please consider the article before this one entitled Bipartisan ‘Common Sense’ which clearly illustrates that collective minds working toward a common goal will indeed prevail. The following is from one such advocacy group, Change.org

“In the long decade that I have spent here, I have realized that American politics resembles a bad game of American football. We can put Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi at the left to put the ball into play with the Majority Leaders as running backs. She passes the football to the President, who is the quarterback, for leadership on immigration reform, while the President fudges a throw to a running back or wide receiver (in this case, Senator Schumer) who catches the ball but refuses to run, insisting on drafting new rules for the game in consultation with the defense. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus tries to act like referees, even though no one in Congress is really paying attention to them.

Immigration reform is a bipartisan issue but that need not mean a watered-down bill that criminalizes immigrants, makes us all carry national ID cards while funneling millions into private contracts to erect a wall all across the Southern border of the United States. Goddess forbid, if a natural or more likely human-induced disaster ever hit the United States and Canada, and people needed to flee to the next neighboring country. Besides, "Tear down this Wall!" would just fall on deaf ears coming from the President of Mexico.

Next, Schumer will be meeting with Sheriff Joe Arpaio to continue talks on immigration reform in the interest of bipartisanship. Senator Schumer, lay off the bipartisan measures and do something for immigrant rights in the interest of the United States of America.

Just a comment or two and then we will continue tomorrow with a deeper analysis from several other special interest and advocacy groups. But first…the opening line in the table states “In the long decade…” does anyone feel attitude? In the same paragraph with the football reference and Sen. Chuck Schumer, notice how he doesn’t run, instead wanting to draft new RULES for proper reform? Two more and we’ll be done; Our people here at Education, Immigration, and Pop Culture fought in not only the Revolutionary War but just about every major war the USA has been involved in – as Americans we find no difficulty with carrying a national ID card, so what’s the problem? Finally anyone feel the hate spewing regarding the “Tear down this Wall!” comment?

When Political Correctness gets ABSURD!

Some may refer to it as being “politically correct” while others simply say it is ridiculous. As for this blog – yep, we do have an expression for it, Ad Ridiculitum – insofar as the notion being presented is so ridiculous. Further, if it weren’t for the police dawgs of the world in this blogosphere then we are certain that it would just go by, unnoticed until it resembles the defunct Immigration and Naturalization Service and many other organizations who have been ruined at the workings of special interest groups. Here is an example:

An atheist organization is blasting the U.S. Postal Service for its plan to honor Mother Teresa with a commemorative stamp, saying it violates postal regulations against honoring "individuals whose principal achievements are associated with religious undertakings."

The Freedom from Religion Foundation is urging its supporters to boycott the stamp — and also to engage in a letter-writing campaign to spread the word about what it calls the "darker side" of Mother Teresa.

The stamp — set to be released on Aug. 26, which would have been Mother Teresa's 100th birthday — will recognize the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize winner for her humanitarian work, the Postal Service announced last month. "Noted for her compassion toward the poor and suffering, Mother Teresa, a diminutive Roman Catholic nun and honorary U.S. citizen, served the sick and destitute of India and the world for nearly 50 years," the Postal Service said in a press release. "Her humility and compassion, as well as her respect for the innate worth and dignity of humankind, inspired people of all ages and backgrounds to work on behalf of the world’s poorest populations."

What is being espoused here by this special interest group – as well as their “followers” – has nothing whatsoever to do with religion. We’ll go as far as saying any moron is able to see that truth. Honoring this woman on a postage stamp is but a small way of bringing her love and humanitarian suffrage into the forefront of our minds. How much humanitarian aid was raised for the tsunami victims? And again most recently in Haiti? When we stop the compassionate efforts of basic assistance to those who are in need because of some ridiculous reason as this…we all fail.

However, Postal Service spokesman Roy Betts expressed surprise at the protest, given the long list of previous honorees with strong religious backgrounds, including Malcolm X, the former chief spokesman for the Nation of Islam, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a Baptist minister and co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Speaking for The Freedom from Religion Foundation, Annie Laurie Gaylor, rendered these responses:

Martin Luther King "just happened to be a minister," and "Malcolm X was not principally known for being a religious figure," she said.
"And he's not called Father Malcolm X like Mother Teresa. I mean, even her name is a Roman Catholic honorific."
Gaylor said Mother Teresa infused Catholicism into her secular honors — including an "anti-abortion rant" during her Nobel Prize acceptance speech — and that even her humanitarian work was controversial.

With any hope the US Postal Service as well as all individuals will be able to discern for themselves just how absurd this special interest organization is.

Scott Brown's victory in the special election for "The People's Seat" vacated when Sen. Edward Kennedy passed away in August is another sign that a counter establishment movement has begun in earnest among the voters of America. This movement had been waiting to take root for a couple of years now and to some degree President Obama was correct when he said the angst that got him elected is the same angst that got Sen. Brown elected.

As a result, we have one of the greatest “teachable – moments” ever to land in an educators hands. Remember what was referred to as the “Hippy, Flower Power Movement or, the Counter-culture revolution” of the late 1960s to late 1970s? Well welcome to the show! We all have the ability to ‘act’ during our latest -- against establishment movement.

Unfortunately for his presidency, Mr. Obama didn't realize this until 10:00 PM EST Tuesday night. Until then he was still deluding himself that his Nov. 2008 election was some sort of a mandate for a far left liberal agenda. However, what he and others failed to notice was his lack of sway and swagger in 3 major elections this year. Indeed Mr. Obama and the rest of the Democratic majority completely misread the message of the last 2 election cycles. Ostensibly, the electorate has a throw the bums out mentality and it was not a mandate to enact their radical socialist policies.

In our own research when one talks to the people who voted for Mr. Obama, a great many of them express what can only be called voters remorse. They believed his rhetoric about being an outsider willing to govern from the center and they trusted he would be the uniter he pledged to be on the campaign trail. Two months in to his term the disappointment began to take hold and the uneasiness gave rise to the once silent majority (independent non-affiliated voters) becoming silent no more.

The Democratic majority's own arrogance, insulting attitude and general let them eat cake mentality displayed toward the "Town Hollerers" and Tea Party Members did more to galvanize this movement than anything else. For this we owe a great many national bloggers such as Michelle Malkin, Dan Riehl, Tax Day Tea Party, Glenn Beck and a great deal of credit for having the fortitude to stand in every imaginable weather condition and espouse their beliefs – which indeed have once again proven true. And a huge thank you from the Tea Party organization and those who took the time to put it on, and lastly, to the others that made sure their readers knew the who, what, where, when, and why of the peaceful gatherings.

So for now Progressive Democrats have become the focus of their immediate scrutiny. However, make no mistake, progressive GOP members who show a propensity to horse trade on Cap and Trade legislation or another Amnesty for Illegal Aliens bill will soon find out that Progressive Democrats are not the only members of congress who run the risk of being unemployed and swept from power.

The real message being sent by this non-violent revolution currently taking place in this country, is we want a responsible smaller government that keeps us safe, protects our borders, advances the needs of the naturalized citizen first, while always being as minimally intrusive on our constitutional rights as possible and if you try to ram your party's extreme agenda because you assume you have a mandate.

Democrat Deceitful scheming

If there is one single ‘claim to fame’ that the Democrat leadership has successfully accomplished within their first and historic year is that they behave with the mentality like babies. As Americans we assured that if the Democrats are not getting their way – “Katie, bar the door!”

Over the past year most of our Democrat Congressional officials have tried to pull so much over on the American people and at whatever the cost no less. Quick examples that immediately rush to mind are the entire fabrication as ‘transparency’ which has given way to bill passage before the bill was even printed! Of course we are talking about the big, no, huge TARP bill that is so inequitable and lopsided that it’s embarrassing.

Furthermore, we are merely suggesting that ‘transparency’ does not mean doing deals behind closed doors, special meetings in the White House, and abhorrently initiating ‘pay to play’ schemes with the likes of our fine citizens in Nebraska, Louisiana, and Maine to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars and earmarks.

After seeing a Democrat Congressional official interviewed this morning, we are left with this explanation: Democrats march to the beat of a different drummer. Moreover, they have also demonstrated marching to the beat of a completely different reality. For example: Anyone could easily see how nationwide health care won’t work by any number of factors. Take a look at Massachusetts’ version of state run health care and ask people how they feel. How about the easiest way to examine just about anything – public opinion that should drive public policy and looking merely at polling data? In a very, very small nutshell, the current Democrat leadership is oblivious to what the American people want.

Considering the events and decisions of the last year it is overwhelmingly obvious that the Harry Reid’s, Pelosi’s, Obama’s, and Ben Cardin’s of the leadership are not at all interested in the American people, yet rather the “sweetheart deals” that they and their cronies are able to reap the benefits.

WARNING and ALERT: We believe that the Democrats will do anything and everything possible to delay Scott Brown’s election to the senate. Whatever it may be from end of voting, to declaration, even moving into his new office, the Democrats will hinder every process along the way – after all, what do babies do when they don’t get their way?

Describing tone, shade, or hue of skin...

In the due course of life one normally finds themselves at a loss for words particularly in some of our new found – and most often meaningless attempts at being politically correct –albeit for one issue or another one finds themselves unable to respond sufficiently because of this relationship between cultures and their language and the attempts to split apart or dismantle that culture by changing the ways in which one communicates.

To be sure language is not in a vacuum nor is it ever stopped. Language is one thing that never stops; as an example we spoke with speech pathologists and doctors that specialize in this area. Funny thing that we found out was that the human brain never thinks in complete sentences nor does it ever stop – thinking. In other words, the brain does not acknowledge the use of periods (full stop).

In the recent foray of events that surrounded Sen. Harry Reid D-NV and his comments in a different place at a different time is a fiasco. We always thought it was Hollywood starlets who did outrageous things for publicity; however, much to our amusement we are finding that politicians are close if not worse in their use of the publicity machine.

It appears that the meekly Senator from the Great State of Nevada feels as though he needs to publically apologize for words he used in describing another individual. Making reference to the tone, shade, or hue of a person’s skin – albeit light or dark or red or sunburned or white or pink does not need apologizing for. Are you ‘feeling’ us on this issue? As long as there are interracial relationships, there will always be a difference in hue. Companies such as Maybelline, Cover Girl, and L’Oreal are making a fortune with this advertising.

Furthermore, what is up with the dialect notion? Everyone in this country knows, appreciates, and attends to the notion that folks in South Central Los Angeles speak differently (word choice, syntax, and infliction) than their counterparts do in Honolulu, Hawaii. Have you ever been in an environment where someone from the West coast laughingly says, ‘hey, you from the Bronx’? No apology necessary or do we have this amuck?

We feel that there is a great deal of “displacement” going on in Washington right now where someone is to apologize for something they’ve either said or done. We are here to say there are some matters and issues that are so true that, to treat them otherwise is without question of doubt being a racist or displacing an apology for something that needs nothing in an attempt to apologize for something that does. Please think about it…

Cluster-puck this: DHS, TSA, INS, & ICE

All one really needs to do is look at the revolving doors of press releases issued by Janet Napolitano, Secretary Department of Homeland Security, to come to grips with just how misguided and literally inept these public officials are.

Michelle Malkin has prepared a lovely and impressive expose on "Clown Alert: Janet Napolitano says 'the system worked'" which Ms. Malkin has again supported every claim made with supporting documentation as well as impeccable sources. This is only a teaser and we implore you to rush over and see how incredibly well Michelle lists the events.

Beginning with her embrace of the impotent euphemism “man-caused disasters” to the hit job on conservatives and veterans that she was forced to apologize for, to her assertion that crossing the border illegally “isn’t a crime per se”, to her boneheaded claim that 9/11 terrorists came in through the Canadian border, "Ja-No" has confirmed time and again that she’s not ready for prime time.

Today, she caps off her horrible year by playing Big Pollyanna in the wake of the Flight 253. The botched bombing — foiled by a faulty detonator and brave passengers, not by homeland security bureaucrats or any preemptive measures by Intel officials — shows that the in Ja-No’s fantasy world.

Folks let's look at what the U.S. government is doing; moreover, what it is not doing, shall we? And just like the placard on President Harry Truman's desk stating, "The Buck Stops Here" it is well over time that Barack Obama actively engage in a leadership capacity. For those who think that he has, well, suffice it to say that the 'Buck' has never stopped with him – it's always Bush's fault – and it will always be someone other than him who takes the heat.

Secretary Janet Napolitano as Michelle Malkin asserts, is simply not ready for prime time. After bragging about how her DHS foiled the plot on Northwest Air's flight that nearly became a travesty of epic proportions – there was Napolitano taking credit. For what? Before the ink was even dry on the first press release she further chimes in that it was in fact, the brave passengers and flight crew that brazenly subdued the would-be bomber. It appears that "The Department of Homeland Security immediately put additional screening measures into place-- for all domestic and international flights- to ensure the continued safety of the traveling public. We are also working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement on additional security measures, as well as our international partners on enhanced security at airports and on flights." Oh please! This is embarrassing!

The reality of this issue folks is rather simple: If the system had worked as Janet Napolitano claims then no-how and no-way would that bomber even been admitted on the plane; moreover, if the system had worked properly this bombing suspect would never have had a visa to enter the USA.

Ineptitude of Homeland Security and TSA

In the latest of many shameful lapses, the federal agency in charge of securing the nation’s transportation system approved background checks for a dozen illegal immigrants working in sensitive areas of a busy U.S. airport.

The illegal aliens, from Central America and Mexico, worked in operational areas of Stewart International Airport, a 2,400-acre facility located about 60 miles north of New York City. Stewart is a major passenger airport for the state’s mid-Hudson region that also handles large quantities of cargo and serves as a military field.

The illegal aliens all had security badges approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the agency created after the 2001 terrorist attacks mainly to protect airlines. The TSA’s national background check failed to detect the fake Social Security numbers and other bogus documents provided by the illegal immigrants to obtain clearance.

So the embattled 43,000-member Homeland Security agency, which has received hundreds of millions of dollars from Congress to fulfill its mission, granted the undocumented aliens “trusted agent” security badges. This allowed them to work at an airport warehouse business and access key operational areas. An alert airport employee noticed the suspicious documents and reported the illegal aliens.

This sort of negligence is par for the course for the TSA, which has come under fire in recent years for leaving airplanes extremely vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Just last month the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General revealed that the TSA is failing to ensure the security of tens of thousands of cargo packages transported daily in the bellies of passenger planes, leaving aircraft at risk of a terrorist attack.

That probe also found that workers who handle the cargo had not received the required background checks or training, further adding to the security crisis. Previous Inspector General probes have over the years revealed similar problems in the TSA’s dismal air cargo security system and exposed dozens of security failures in other crucial areas nationwide.

A couple of issues come to mind as this pathetic piece describes so well. "Fake Social Security numbers and other bogus documents" where either unchecked or passed what is alleged to guard America's airline industry, transportation, and package handling; therefore, what does this tell you about the Department of Homeland Security? We agree, the Secretary should be answering to the American people from the unemployment line.

We'd relish someone who could assist us with what precisely is a "trusted agent" when they committed a crime to get where they are? Anyone hear of Eric Holder, the Attorney General of the United States? And this much we do know for a fact – there are several airlines in this country that simply will not allow an un-cleared employee anywhere near the airport – let alone give them a job. This situation is purely pathetic and speaks volumes about who, what, and where have been appointed by the Obama Administration.

What is this administration up to now? What is congress up too other than doing precisely the opposite of what the American people don't want? An overwhelming majority of Americas do not support the health care bill that the Senate recently voted on pursuant to having a debate about it. Dear Senator Reid: Why are you insisting to push this legislation through the Senate when the American people simply and clearly don't want it?

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June. (Rasmussen Reports, click here.)

And ladies and gentlemen what is up with this 'war tax' that is isolating the rich to pay for a war? Goodness people wake up – and that goes for representatives and senators in Congress as well as every member in the Obama administration. It's even got a name: "Share the Sacrifice Act of 2010."

Here's one for Rush, O'Reilly, Oprah, Buffet, Gates, Bloomberg, Perot, Murdoch, and all of the lesser known wealthy Americans: If we were in your income category the first thing we'd do is inform the current no-brainer administration that you are already paying approximately 80% or more of federal income taxes. Secondly, we would file for equal protection under the 14th amendment and the Equal Protection Clause.

For just a refresher – the Equal Protection Clause is that clause engineered by the writers of the 14th amendment in post-Civil War America. This is the clause that every group this side of normal goes with into court to receive "Protected status" and any criticism of that class is of course referred to as being discriminated against. This is the true path to making money; or at least for special interest groups who whine over the slightest bit.

So what makes the rich any different? There are far more Arab-Americans, Muslim-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, African-Americans, LGBT-Americans than there are truly wealthy people in this country. So why not claim your protection status before this government who has already hit you up for health care, income taxes, and redistribution of your wealth – the heck with them – get your protection!

This current spend-thrift Congress will surely take down America as we once knew it. They don't care if we own General Motors, or AIG, or Chrysler, or large portions of Bank of America or any number of things we've already purchased and legally own.

"We the People..." is who you are supposed to be representing. Therefore how could anyone with a reasonable mind even entertain the notion of having a civilian trial in New York when the majority of the nation is against it; furthermore, the people of the great state of New York don't want terrorists tried in their state either (55%).

Political Correctness in the military, part 2

Earlier this month we presented an article that espoused the notion as to whether "political correctness" may have had a direct result on the travesty at Fort Hood. We quite openly believe that if a person is acting out with their ideological beliefs and is conflicted about what he believes as opposed to what he does, sure – there can be a real problem.

However the point of our previous article as well as this one is to illustrate how gaining "protected status" under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment – has reached a point where it simply is not assisting those who need protection in this country. Sixty-three percent (63%) of U.S. voters say political correctness prevented the military from responding to warning signs from Major Nidal Malik Hasan that could have prevented the Fort Hood shootings from taking place.

A new Rasmussen Reports national survey shows that just 16% disagree and do not believe political correctness kept military authorities from possibly stopping the killing of 13 people and the wounding of many others in the November 5 incident. Twenty-one percent (21%) are not sure.

Older Americans are more suspicious of political correctness than voters under 40. Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major political party overwhelmingly believe political correctness held the military back. That view is shared by 49% of Democrats while 23% of those in the president’s party disagree to think political correctness kept the military from responding to warning signs from Hasan.

Seventy-five percent (75%) of Mainstream Americans think political correctness prevented the military from responding before the attacks took place.

New reports say authorities were aware of suspicious behavior and comments by Hasan, a devout Muslim, but no action was taken against him, in part because of concern that there might be an appearance of anti-Islamic bias. Both President Obama and the Army chief of staff urged Americans not to jump to conclusions about the cause of the shootings just after they took place.

Seventy-three percent (73%) of Texas voters say Hasan should receive the death penalty if he is convicted of the massacre at Fort Hood. Military prosecutors have charged Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder. If convicted, he is eligible for the death penalty. Quick question: Why do you suppose that voters over the age of 40 are more suspicious of political correctness?

We heard it live today in an interview with Sen. Orin Hatch (R-UT) the unadulterated statement that we've been waiting for from someone on the Hill. During his interview with Bill Hemmer of FOX News' America's Newsroom, Sen. Hatch constantly referred to initiatives that ostensibly got the health care bill passed in the House of Representatives; however, before even addressing as to whether or not the Senate will debate the issue, Sen. Hatch made mention of those two-biggest lies that he – as well as his colleagues – sincerely hope will not be messed with.

The two issues are health care for illegal aliens and federally funded abortions. While in the process of closing the interview, Mr. Hatch stated: "I hope the American people revolt." And we are at the point of total agreement with Sen. Hatch.

Ladies and gentlemen all one needs to do is look at the language, moreover the lies that are being told everyday albeit from the White House, Department of Justice, Nan Pelosi and 'her health care bill' and the other inside the beltway corrupt-o-crats.

U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops:

In order to get the health care bill passed through Nan Pelosi's House, more than 25 Democrat representatives had to be reassured that federally funded abortion was a big fat NO! For weeks, the Catholic Church has asked its U.S. parishioners to work toward ensuring that tough language restricting federal funding of abortion is included in healthcare overhaul legislation.

But as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the church's governing body in America, tries to rally its forces outside Congress, it is also using its leverage within.

It used that influence this month as the House of Representatives prepared to vote on the healthcare legislation. Negotiators for the church worked with lawmakers to add an amendment to ensure that federal insurance subsidies do not wind up funding elective abortion. Doesn't it seem that the "Almighty Clause" found nowhere in the Constitution, 'Separation between church and state' is a convenient colloquialism when one wants to gain from it?

Obama Says Health Care Reform Won't Cover Illegal Aliens

During his speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday evening, Pres. Barack Obama directly addressed the issue of health care coverage for illegal aliens. The President said his proposal would not extend benefits to individuals in the country illegally. A Rasmussen poll released on September 7 shows that 83% of Americans favor requiring those who apply for government-sponsored, tax-payer funded health care subsidies to prove that they are U.S. citizens. A similar poll conducted in June showed that 80% of Americans were in favor of requiring proof of citizenship.

Reality of the Issue

House passed by a slim 220-215 margin a health care reform bill (H.R. 3962) that excludes the restrictions necessary to prevent illegal aliens from accessing benefits. This set up a potential conference committee battle since President Obama and the Senate support tighter restrictions.

The House bill would allow illegal aliens to use the new health care "exchange" and would not require verification to keep illegal aliens out of the other parts of the proposed federal health care system.

Abortion amendment for no federal funded abortion in health care

The abortion amendment was tacked on to the House health care bill and was a key factor in securing the votes of moderate Democrats before the bill was approved by a narrow margin last weekend. The amendment, authored by Rep. Bart Stupak, D-MI., went beyond preventing the proposed government-run plan from covering abortion to restrict federal subsidies from going toward private plans that offer abortion coverage.

Reality: Obama Will Try to Strip Abortion Language from Health Care Bill

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod suggested Sunday that President Obama will intervene to make sure a controversial amendment restricting federal funding for abortion coverage is stripped from final health care reform legislation.

In doing so, the president would be heeding the call of abortion rights supporters like Planned Parenthood that have called the White House their "strongest weapon" in keeping such restrictions out of the bill.

Recovery.gov announces new or saved jobs

It's no secret that Recovery.gov is laden with errors on stimulus money data, but this is downright ridiculous.

The nonexistent 15th congressional district of Arizona managed to "create or save 30 jobs" with $761k in stimulus funds. So who's to blame? Recovery.gov believes it is "human error."

Rep. David Obey, D-WS, who chairs the powerful House appropriations Committee stated earlier that, "The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the Administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes."

Reality:

Misspeaking again fellows? Outright telling lies again, people? "We report what the recipients submit to us," said Ed Pound, Communications Director for the Board; however what about checking your sources?

As usual we were going about our business soaring through various and sundry informative websites and blogs when S-L-A-P! It feels as though someone has just blazed a flat, wet-hand across your face on a freezing cold winter's day. Know the feeling?

In this particular matter we were doing our level best to research where the Elaine Huguenin case sits as far as appeals, and your general special interest trying to watch out for one of the gravest travesties of the 21st century. For those who don't recall a quick, very quick refresher: (Also, please click here.)

A professional photographer who refused to take pictures of a gay couple’s commitment ceremony because of her religious beliefs violated New Mexico discrimination law, a human rights panel ruled. Vanessa Willock filed a complaint with the New Mexico Human Rights Commission in 2006, contending that Albuquerque photographer Elaine Huguenin told her she photographed only traditional marriages. Huguenin and her husband, Jon, own Elane Photography.

Shortly thereafter Elaine and Jon Huguenin were being sued by Vanessa Willock in front of the New Mexico Human Rights Commission for discrimination based on 'sexual orientation.' What? Yep that's right; it's ugly, it's wrong, it's immoral, lacks any kind of integrity and is void of any humane dignity.

During our search we went back over the particulars and much to our amazement we ran across this quote below by the Alliance Defense Fund's Senior Counsel, Kevin Theriot, that simply stuck out so conspicuously -- "...thoughts, beliefs, and emotions they have that are not considered to be 'politically correct.'" "All violent crimes are hate crimes, and all crime victims deserve equal justice," ADF Senior Counsel Kevin Theriot explains. "So-called 'hate crime' laws actually serve only one purpose: The criminalization of citizens based on whatever thoughts, beliefs, and emotions they have that are not considered to be 'politically correct.' No one should fall for the idea that this bill does anything to bring about greater justice for Americans."

As mentioned in previous writings – please see the tab marked Political Correctness on the Home page of The Thinker – especially where linguists, academians, and other scholars believe that the quickest way to defragment or disrupt and change a society is by changing its language which is believed is the major culprit behind being politically correct. Just a few examples: "Undocumented worker," a "Blank – American" (hyphenated) and "handicapped to disabled" for a few examples.

Just for the record we like to inform everyone who reads this article or anything whatsoever about this case (Willock v. Elane Photography) that of the first part: Same-sex marriage or commitment ceremonies or civil unions -- anything to do with the union of same-sex partners is illegal in New Mexico. Notice how decietful and scheming Willock was when she went to the New Mexico Human Rights Commission to bring suit. We are of the opinion that if an 'act' is deemed illegal in a state then anything to do with that act would likewise be illegal.

Law Enforcement Working Together....what a concept!

Have we entered into a time where -- finally – the various law enforcement agencies have begun to work together? What a concept! Now what will Hollyweird writers have to write about? For too long its major mess-ups because the FBI didn't want anyone in their jurisdiction, while the local police and sheriffs' departments who'd worked the crimes wanted some credit and there's nothing wrong with that. Please everyone who has ears listen! With the recent apprehension and foiled terrorist attacks in New York, Colorado, and Canada that we know about – where the CIA worked with the ATF who worked with ICE who worked with the FBI who worked with the NYPD and other agencies – nothing shy of marvelous.

However we want to espouse that at a time when ALL the local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are working together for the first time wouldn't you know it, some 500 special interest groups are raising Cain for some violation of some illegal immigrants rights albeit they are here illegally.

As such, we at American Age feel it is incumbent upon us to get the word out about all matters concerning immigration reform. Therefore, in our steadfast heart of hearts, we believe beyond question that there are hundreds; if not thousands of special interest/advocacy groups that have already set in motion their own 'version' of what immigration reform will look like. And folks as far as we're concerned we don't like the looks of it; moreover, we dislike and disrespect the notion that terms and conditions of illegal immigration will be dictated to us.

500 groups urge Obama to halt immigration police program

A letter to the president says local enforcement of federal immigration laws has led to racial profiling and civil rights violations.

A coalition of advocacy groups sent a letter to President Obama last week demanding that the administration end a program that allows local police to enforce federal immigration law.

The program, known as 287(g), deputizes police to turn over suspects or criminals to immigration authorities for possible deportation. Immigrant rights groups said the program has led to civil rights violations and racial profiling.

"Racial profiling and other civil rights abuses by the local law enforcement agencies that have sought out 287(g) powers have compromised public safety, while doing nothing to solve the immigration crisis," the letter states. "The program has worked counter to community policing goals by eroding the trust and cooperation of immigrant communities and diverted already reduced law enforcement resources from their core mission."

Who, what, where, why, and how do these advocacy groups – who receive funding from the U.S. government – think they are insofar as demanding things? Moreover, in our humble opinion one of the greatest difficulties facing a uniform cross-agency program – involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies – is that there are restrictions that any one of these agencies can't do in order to perform to the best of their abilities and with each other.

We say nonsense to this garbage! Furthermore, all of these special interest groups should be well-advised that there are consequences for their actions – if and only if we have the government that will enforce our Nation's "Manner of Laws." (Further reading click here.)

Justice department 'empowering' illegal immigrants

The U.S. Department of Justice has given a public university a special grant to help illegal immigrants in the Midwest and teach their employers, primarily in the meatpacking and construction industries, how to curb discrimination against foreign-born workers. (One step closer to 'protected status'.)

Indeed, the government agency charged with defending the nation's interests and enforcing the law is helping those who have violated it. The Justice Department is supposed to ensure public safety against foreign and domestic threats and seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior not reward them. (Seriously, how many of us knew this was going on?)

Instead, the agency has given the University of Iowa a $50,000 grant to help empower the illegal immigrant labor force that, according to a press release, substantially benefits significant Midwestern industries. The taxpayer money went to the school’s Center for Human Rights, which plans to stop the exploitation of immigrant workers who are too often vulnerable to discrimination and unsafe working conditions. (Rather than 'empower' why aren't they spending the money on deportation?)

Among other things, the school will use the cash to extend significant outreach activities to immigrant workforces in Iowa and Nebraska and provide educational opportunities to the business community relating to immigration law and the rights of foreign-born workers. Industries notorious for hiring illegal aliens, such as meatpacking and construction, will be heavily targeted.

The Justice Department has a history of protecting illegal immigrants and accommodating them in exchange for their testimony in the criminal prosecutions of U.S. law enforcement officers. The agency recently brought deported illegal aliens back to the U.S. to testify against an Arizona sheriff who enforces immigration law through a federal partnership.

A few years ago, Justice Department officials actually went into Mexico to give a drug dealer immunity to testify against two veteran Border Patrol agents who intercepted his U.S.-bound vehicle loaded with 743 pounds of marijuana. The admitted Mexican drug smuggler got shot trying to evade the federal officers and the Justice Department prosecuted both of them. Incredibly, the agents got convicted of causing serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm and violating the drug smuggler’s civil rights.

What is going on in this nation of ours when the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi D-CA, uses the United States Air Force as her private fleet of jets; or Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner admittedly cheated on his income taxes to the amount of say, $25,000; least we never forget Mr. William Jefferson D-LA who was caught red-handed on video tape being given $100,000 grand, and in possession of $90,000 tucked neatly in the freezer of his Louisiana home.

Please ladies and gentlemen let's do the right thing and demand that Eric Holder, Attorney General of the US, put an end to this grave travesty. Thank you.

Immigration reform, part 2

We left off previously with the offer of illegal immigrants making a declaration of good faith in such a way as to immediately go to the nearest Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency or through any of the agencies of immigration services and registering pursuant to their status. Doing this would assure them the proper identification for anything they would like to do.

With the perspective of knowing who is here in America, this 'registration process' is really part of the actual U.S. Census insofar as it will allow for the proper budgeting, personnel, and infrastructure to support the unexpected rise in costs.

Just a sidebar for those who are preparing to scream Political Correctness and the entire notion of 'undocumented immigrants, immigrant's human and civil rights,' and everything else under the sun, be advised that treating this illegal status as anything but what it honestly is – illegal is to defecate on America's founding documents; moreover, crush a nation that used to pride itself in the "Manner of Law."

We certainly have no problem with immigration; albeit, when it is done in controlled fashion as it is designed. Make no mistake about it, we – every single citizen of the United States – with a reasonable mind knows that this country was built and maintained by immigrants.

Yet our question remains the same; namely, is coming in hoards – illegally – the proper way of achieving the end result of prosperity? We feel the frustration of those others' who are somehow stymied in a quagmire of bureaucratic malfunction at no fault of their own. Should the law abiding person in Europe, Asia or South America be forced to wait ten or more years because untold millions have recklessly disregarded proper procedures and placed undo strain on legal immigration?

Illegal Immigration should cease immediately
I have become convinced that the safety of our institutions, the continuity of our prosperity, the preservation of our standards of living, and the maintaining of a decent level of morals among us depends upon a most rigid limitation of immigration and the maintaining of a rigid standard as to even those few who may be admitted...Albert Johnson, The Alien in Our Midst,1930.

The real victims of illegal immigration are basically in two groups. The first is the working poor Americans. When illegals cross the borders and begin to work most employers find themselves in a position to be unscrupulous by paying less than minimum wage. When wages are driven down as well as unemployment taxes, health insurance, and whatever else the government wants to take, this scenario does in fact place burdens on those other industries, thus causing an over-burden on public assistance.

We are convinced that the new minimum wage levels are better than they were; however, if employers can hire someone who will work for lower than minimum it no longer becomes effective for the American worker to consider those wages; we are convinced that this is what is meant by "taking jobs from Americans" as well as "we do the jobs that Americans don't want too..."

Briefly until later or even tomorrow, when one considers that illegal immigrants send approximately 65% of their earned wages back to their home countries what have we to say about the free market system? Moreover, with respect to the Federal Reserve, the figures we're addressing is somewhere near $20 billion dollars per year.

Therefore, as a second measure of immigration reform we suggest that there be some type of internal controls put on the Federal Reserves to monitor the funds going out of the country, albeit in cash stuff envelops or multi-family transfers.

Time to weigh-in on Immigration Reform

We wish beyond measure that we could wait until both congressional houses picked-up the debate on illegal immigration a.k.a. 'immigration reform' but as we all know our current government has yet to enact anything promised during the campaign; therefore, what would you call that?

In other words, however politely we are able to state that we believe that Comprehensive Immigration Reform measures are going to be debated with bipartisan logic and a reform will come about that is pleasing to everyone involved, well we just can't. If the transition phase from Bush to Obama, or Obama's first 100 days in office are any indication of immigration reform – we'd (citizens of the USA) better get to work now.

Mind you it's not like we haven't been doing our fair share. We've run series after series on immigration reform, pondering illegal immigration, and making suggestions that are somehow falling on deaf ears. So it is time to get moving and publish some of the suggestions we've received from our readership as well as various organizations who have had our back, and then again, from those experts before us.

Unite to Reduce Illegal Immigration
"It is the duty of all Americans from Maine to Texas and from Washington to Florida to forget the dissensions of the past and unite in an effort to reduce immigration to the lowest possible point or stop it all together, and compel the foreigners now here either to accept our traditions and ideals or else to return to the land from which they came, by deportation or otherwise." We are those kinds of individuals that look at past indentures, failures, and other means of totally messing something up for the rest of the law abiding world. Moreover, inasmuch research and studying that has gone into this current dilemma – and being American citizens – we believe we have not only the right but also the obligation to assist to make things acceptable.

We are not sure who the 'elites of Washington' think they're kidding; furthermore, one should come to the understanding that everyone in this country today is going to have to make some concessions in order for the absolute whole to work.

Pork stuffed bills with earmarked untold millions for special interest groups is not the way that this current problem with illegal immigration will ever be solved. Furthermore, no matter what promises were made during a campaign and by whom too ensure a segment of a voting demographic is not the answer any more than 'acceptable paths' to citizenship will work either.

There is in fact one issue that remains constant through this entire scenario; and as ugly as it is, and no amount of political correctness can ever change this notion: illegal immigrants have broken our laws to immigrate to the United States to achieve, prosper, and live a better life. First order of business is the unmitigated solemn oath of full-disclosure of illegals that are currently in the country.

We believe that this would be showing good faith and start a process of getting a true and correct record of the situation as it stands today. Therefore, having made this suggestion we will continue daily unless something of more importance comes up, although we doubt that will happen.

Pondering illegal immigration, part 3

Time once again to ponder illegal immigration; however, in this segment we’d like to pay special attention to what the ineptitude of a broken down, dilapidated, and inefficient system that exists in the United States Immigration and Customs Service and the Department of Homeland Security.

Are you worried about the U.S. economy? All things considered, between TARP, bailout programs, and the nationalization of various industries, the cost to the American tax-payers is a mere trillion dollars. So let’s consider all things: Do you stop to think about what would happen when more than 20 million illegals are given amnesty – read that, “free citizenship” – and find them covered by free medical care, for themselves and their families?

We need to ponder some significant issues regarding illegal immigration. There may be alterations and or modifications in basic immigration procedures; kind of like ‘lip service’; however, the real objective and concentration is on granting legal status to people here illegally and who avail themselves of our generous welfare, social services, educational, medical, housing and food programs.

Just think about this staggering reality: The financial burden to states for such “free” services to illegals is enormous. In California, it’s estimated to be $13.1 billion annually. Now consider that California in lieu of handing out I.O.U.’s for paychecks or tax returns whilst verging on bankruptcy with a $26.3 billion deficit, that cost of illegals is even more staggering. Did you know that Washington D.C., changed the guidelines, requiring any criminal charges against the illegals be resolved before deportation? Now, there are three levels of crimes, the most serious being drug or violent crimes such as murder, manslaughter, rape, kidnapping and robbery. One could easily consider that residing in a country illegally with total disregard for that Nation’s laws is not serious enough of a crime to warrant ’serious’ repercussions.

Do you think there is reason to be concerned? Let’s address just this issue of ’seriousness.’ In one week in mid-July in Tucson, three illegals were arrested. All had sex-crime convictions from as far away as Illinois and New York. One had been charged twice since November for sex with a minor. All had been deported, but they returned again and again.

According to “The Babe in the Bunker,” Barbara Simpson, who has been writing a magnificent series at World Net Daily, DHS reports there are 2 million unapprehended criminal illegals in this country – who apply for and receive welfare benefits.

Data also reveals that ninety-five percent of murder warrants in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens. It’s 83 percent in Phoenix and 86 percent in Albuquerque.
A full 48.2 percent of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally. It’s 40.1 percent in Arizona and 24.9 percent in Los Angeles.

Seventy-five percent of the “most wanted” in those cities are illegals. Half, or 50 percent, of Los Angeles gang members are illegals; and illegals were involved in 53 percent of investigated burglaries in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas.

Pondering Illegal Immigration, part 2

When we discuss reform, let us not discuss ‘No borders,’ or ‘Amnesty for all’; or the latest notion of ‘A Path to Earned Citizenship’; of course these are counter productive measures that resemble a band aid. Sooner or later the America citizenry and those who are hear legally as residents or otherwise need to come to the realization that he United States government is guilty of lying, cheating, and stealing from its own citizenry.

Today we again would like to present a different perspective from a different person who is caught up in this quagmire of government ineptitude and endless bureaucracy. Again, as in previous submissions we willingly hold back names, simply for the sake of privacy. However, we would like to give a huge hat-tip to our colleagues, united over at the Coalition Against Illegal Immigration. (This article has been edited for little errors only.)

"I have mixed feelings about illegal immigration …I am myself considered “illegal” (which I think only serves to reinforce negative stereotypes and dehumanize people), So i’d like to call myself an undocumented student. Anyways my parents brought me here in the summer of 96′ i was 5 years old. I guess we’re not the typical “Illegal” or “immigrant” family a lot of americans stereotype.

My father has a bachelors degree in business administration and a masters in college education, my mother has a bachelors in education. We were happy in our country (Mexico) if it weren’t for the economical crisis, corrupt politics, and the life threatening situations we would of stayed.

But life takes so many turns, you don’t know if the next one is gonna be a good one for ya. My father applied for an american visa he did everything to come here legally but for unknown reasons was denied. Perhaps it was because of his unemployed status at the time, who knows.

He had to quit his job due to illegal movements and corruption the company he worked for got involved in. It’s really sad that Mexico’s government can’t take care of their own. My father tried getting other jobs but it’s difficult to get a job with a good position, you have to buy your way there. And the fellows he worked with didn’t help much.

He had no references. Any who, after a year or so of searching he tried getting a visa once more, and once again was denied. Really it surprises me how they could give visas to people that didn’t have a career or a recognized position. It came down to one thing he either came illegally or stayed to his (our) demise really sounds dramatic but its reality.

He crossed illegaly, shortly after my mother and i crossed (legally) with a visa, but we overstayed and now we are stuck in the u.s as illegal immigrants, why can’t the government do something about people with careers and education. We’re not looking for citizenship we just want a legal work permit. America is in need of teachers and much more in the education field.

America is in need of nurses and others in the medical field. Those are just a few to mention. Americans say we are taking over their jobs etc. Really? then how come there is a shortage of people in many fields? I don’t see americans in those jobs? and is not because they don’t want to, is just that they don’t have enough people with a degrees for it. (Is this last paragraph seem difiant? Editor )

Pondering Illegal Immigration, part 1

We have been privy to so many media exploits albeit, from the blogosphere, main-stream media (MSM), drive-by media, (DBM) as well as conservative and liberal talk radio programs that we all should be gearing up for a 'showdown' on the one hand, or the duty, responsibility, and service of the U.S. government on the other for our impending illegal immigration problem in this country.

There are a couple of issues that were brought to our attention recently that we'd love to pass them along and maybe generate some feedback or enlightenment. Up first -- this is a response by an obviously responsible and conscientious person who renders a different perspective: (Hat-tip to the Coalition Against Illegal Immigration.)

The attitude of Mexican-American (legals and illegals) is hostile toward non-Hispanics…called “Anglos” by Hispanics. They have broken our hospitals burdening emergency rooms and maternity wards, our public schools and take places in our universities that should go to American citizens (who are paying and parents have paid for).
Many families, like mine took a decade on waitlist before legally emigrate from Europe, and never would even consider going on any social assistance. We all work hard, carry insurances, paid for our colleges, and pay our taxes. We never expected handouts as these people angrily do.
Many go to university on all the taxpayers’ money while the American-born and legal immigrants pay their own way. Why should thousands of Mexicans be able to enter legally every day? Can’t the National Guard protect the country from this continuing practice? Our taxes are going to be sky-high (I predict over 50%) if this continues.

WOW! What a perspective -- and how awesome it is to see this point of view -- from someone who followed the proper procedures. This system and situation needs reform!

In fact, when our esteemed "elected officials" even utter the words 'Immigration Reform' that is precisely what they should focus on. Example: Why did it take her family and many other families ten years to receive approval? That needs reforming!

Another tidbit compliments of the US government: Why are we, as a Nation, so accommodating, empowering, and enabling those who knowingly and willingly break our laws? That needs reform!

When we discuss reform, let us not discuss 'No borders,' or 'Amnesty for all;' the United States is guilty of lying, cheating, stealing, and certainly accommodating the world's rich and poor. Why and we say again, WHY should illegal aliens be able to attend our public institutions, draw on social welfare benefits, and literally take, take, and take all the while knowing that they're here illegally? Go figure!

One huge catastrophic problem going on in our 'representative democracy' is that there isn't anything 'representative' about it. Period! We've written and written about this Health Care Reform Package that those in Congress and the President want, however, flatly refuse to use what they mandate in any way. We believe that a great deal of this health care reform is politically motivated and all polls support us on this fact.

Ostensibly, the U.S. government is in place to protect the citizenry and legal residents of this country. Why is so much going to health care reform; moreover, immigration reform? Can you honestly say that your 'elected officials' in Washington DC are protecting you and your rights; or how about simply representing you?

Just got done watching one of the more level-headed people in the news-commentary business where one of the big issues was that as much positive press as this Health Care plan is getting, why the America people so vehemently against it.

Realistically now – If ABC, NBC, CBS, New York and Los Angeles Times as well as MSMBC and CNN are constantly putting a positive spin on President Obama's ridiculous Health Care plan how could it be that a little more than 70 percent (70%) of Americans are flatly against it?

Another great bit of statistical data has been finally revealed – 90 percent of Americans are already insured; of that 90% eighty percent (80%) are quite happy with the health care they already have; therefore, these pundits were wondering how and why the American people could be so entrenched about this initiative albeit all they are hearing is positive and great things about it.

We are without reserve when state that Americans may not be the smartest bulbs in the light socket; yet, one has to admit that they are well-informed. So how could this be? Experts say that Americans watch a minimum of television approximately 4 hour-per-day; furthermore, experts also state that the level of programming is something to be desired. One is left quizzically at odds with the reason of how can one hear greatness, yet oppose it so steadfastly?

We are the first to admit that we were indeed a little bummed out that these talking heads didn't get it – or if they did, they sure didn't mention anything about it. We believe that Americans are in fact aware of some realities, namely:

The blogosphere baby! Every person in radio, print, television, and internet news reporting has made comments about how 'everyone and their dog has a blog.' We believe that's a good thing.

People are now writing more; reading more, and looking for data that supports the rubbish they're hearing from Capitol Hill.

We believe that the American public is putting their technologies to work and in a good, and informative way.

Our only disappointment was that these level-headed pundits did not mention the blogosphere! We are of the opinion that an educated or informed society is far more productive and creative than those societies who are not. How has the Internet Blogosphere enhanced or hindered your life?
